Jimmy Gardner (ice Hockey)
James Henry Gardner (May 21, 1881 – November 6, 1940) was a Canadian ice hockey player and coach. Gardner started his career as professionalism was just starting in ice hockey. He won championships with both amateur and professional teams. After his hockey career ended, Gardner coached professionally, most notably with the Montreal Canadiens of the National Hockey Association (NHA). Gardner helped found the NHA, the predecessor of today's National Hockey League, and the Canadiens, including suggesting the team name. Hockey career Gardner's playing career started with Montreal Hockey Club amateur men's team of the Canadian Amateur Hockey League in 1900, where he played until 1903, winning the Stanley Cup twice, in 1902 and 1903 as one of the 'Little Men of Iron'. In 1903, the players of the Montreal Hockey Club left to form the new Montreal Wanderers of the Federal Amateur Hockey League (FAHL). Edward Charles James Gardner, DFM (24 August 1924 – 3 May 2010) was an English actor. During World War II, Gardner served in the Royal Air Force as an air gunner with No. 10 Squadron. He completed 30 sorties as a Halifax rear gunner and was awarded the Distinguished Flying Medal. His first film appearance was in ''The Curse of the Mummy's Tomb'' released during 1964. Thereafter he appeared in over 30 films and also made extensive TV and theatre appearances. Some of his best known Shakespearean roles such as Adam in '' As You Like It'', and Gravedigger in ''Hamlet'' were performed under the direction of Terry Hands. He played Knight Bus driver Ernie Prang in ''Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban'', the third film in the ''Harry Potter'' film series. James Francis Gardner (born 27 September 1967) is a Scottish former professional association football, football Midfielder#Winger, winger. A product of non-league Ayresome North, Gardner signed for amateur Scottish Football League club Queen's Park F.C., Queen's Park in April 1987. He moved on to Motherwell F.C., Motherwell in the summer of 1987 but made only 16 league appearances in five years with the club. He joined St Mirren F.C., St Mirren in September 1993 before moving to the English Football League, initially with Scarborough F.C., Scarborough and then Cardiff City F.C., Cardiff City and Exeter City F.C., Exeter City. He returned to Scottish league football in 1999 to play for Stirling Albion F.C., Stirling Albion and then Arbroath F.C., Arbroath before finishing with non-league Glasgow United F.C., Shettleston.
