Jimmy Collins (footballer, Born 1911)
James Henry Collins (30 January 1911 – 1983) was an English footballer who played as a striker for a number of Football League clubs. His most successful spell was with Cardiff City, finishing as the club's top scorer for two consecutive seasons. Career Collins began his career playing non-league football for Tooting and impressed enough for Queens Park Rangers to sign him in 1931. However, he struggled to make an impact in the Football League and returned to non-league football with Tunbridge Wells Rangers. His goalscoring exploits for Tunbridge saw him offered a second chance at professional football by Rochdale in 1933, later playing for Stockport County and Walsall. In January 1936, having scored 14 league goals during the first half of the season for Walsall, Collins was signed by Liverpool. Fred Howe (24 September 1912 – 1984) was an English professional footballer who played as a centre forward. In his career, he played for Stockport County, Hyde United, Liverpool, Manchester City, Grimsby Town, Watford, Oldham Athletic, and Ashton United. Albert Turner (3 September 1907 – 1959) was an English footballer who played outside left in the 1930s for Hull City, Walsall, Doncaster Rovers, Cardiff City and Bristol Rovers. Playing career Doncaster Rovers Turner began his career at Hull City, then moved to Walsall for one and a bit seasons. He was then being brought to 3rd Division North side Doncaster, by manager David Menzies, midway through the 1933–34 season. Scoring on his debut on 16 December in a 4–2 home victory against Gateshead, that season he netted 14 goals over 22 games as Rovers finished the season in 5th position. The following season, he was the leading scorer at the club with 26, including 1 cup goal, an impressive achievement for a winger.
