Jim Wilson (Northern Ireland Politician)
Jim Wilson (born 15 December 1941) is a Northern Irish politician, who was an Ulster Unionist Party (UUP) Member of the Northern Ireland Assembly (MLA) for South Antrim from 1998 to 2007. Born in County Antrim, Wilson attended Belfast College of Technology before becoming a marine engineer. He was elected to Newtownabbey Borough Council in 1975 for the Vanguard Unionist Progressive Party, and joined the Ulster Unionist Party the following year. However, he resigned his position on the council in 1988. He was UUP General Secretary from the late 1980s until 1998. South Antrim (Assembly Constituency)
South Antrim (, Ulster Scots: ''Sooth Anthrim'') is a constituency in the Northern Ireland Assembly. The seat was first used for a Northern Ireland-only election for the Northern Ireland Assembly, 1973. It usually shares boundaries with the South Antrim UK Parliament constituency, however the boundaries of the two constituencies were slightly different from 1983 to 1986 as the Assembly boundaries had not caught up with Parliamentary boundary changes and from 1996 to 1997 when members of the Northern Ireland Forum had been elected from the newly drawn Parliamentary constituencies but the 51st Parliament of the United Kingdom, elected in 1992 under the 1983–95 constituency boundaries, was still in session. Members were then elected from the constituency to the 1975 Constitutional Convention, the 1982 Assembly, the 1996 Forum and then to the current Assembly from 1998. John Dallat
John Dallat (24 March 1947 – 5 May 2020) was an Irish politician in the Social Democratic and Labour Party (SDLP) who represented East Londonderry in the Northern Ireland Assembly from 1998 to 2016, and then from 2017 until his death in 2020. Education He attended Coleraine College of Further Education, the North West College of Further and Higher Education, the University of Ulster and University College, Galway before becoming a business studies instructor. Career Dallat joined the Social Democratic and Labour Party and was elected to Coleraine Borough Council in 1977. From 2001–02, he was the first Irish nationalist Mayor of Coleraine. In 1996 he was an unsuccessful candidate in the Northern Ireland Forum election in East Londonderry. David McClarty
David McClarty (23 February 1951 – 18 April 2014) was an Independent Unionist politician from Northern Ireland, who served as a Member of the Northern Ireland Assembly (MLA) for East Londonderry from 1998 to his death in 2014. Background McClarty was from Coleraine and was educated at Coleraine Academical Institution and Magee College. McClarty was first elected to Coleraine Borough Council in 1989, and held the post of Mayor from 1993 to 1995. Francie Molloy
Francie Molloy ( ga, Proinsias Ó Maolmhuaidh; born 16 December 1950) is an Irish Sinn Féin politician who has been the abstentionist Member of Parliament (MP) for Mid Ulster since 2013. He was a Member of the Northern Ireland Assembly (MLA) for Mid Ulster from 1998 to 2013. He first stood for Sinn Féin in Fermanagh and South Tyrone in the 1982 Assembly Elections, finishing sixth in the five-seat constituency. He was then elected to Dungannon council in 1985 representing the Torrent electoral area, centred on Coalisland. He retired from the council in 1989 but was re-elected in 1993. Jane Morrice (born 11 May 1954) is a Northern Irish politician and journalist who helped architect the Good Friday Agreement. She is the former Deputy Speaker of the Northern Ireland Assembly, former Head of the European Commission Office in Northern Ireland and former reporter for BBC Belfast. Morrice was Vice President of the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) from 2013-2015 and again from 2019 until 2020 when Brexit forced the United Kingdom out of the European Union.
