Jim Smith (racing Businessman)
Jim Smith is an American motocross racer and former NASCAR team owner who helped found the Craftsman Truck Series. Smith tested a prototype of the truck prior to the 1994 Daytona 500 at Daytona International Speedway. Smith owned Ultra Motorsports until the closing of their shop in early 2006 following a sponsorship dispute with the Ford Motor Company. Ultra Motorsports fielded Dodges in the Craftsman Truck Series for Ted Musgrave and Jimmy Spencer, and was an investment partner with Robby Gordon Motorsports in the NEXTEL Cup Series The NASCAR Cup Series is the top racing series of the National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing (NASCAR). Motocross
Motocross is a form of off-road motorcycle racing held on enclosed off-road circuits. The sport evolved from motorcycle trials competitions held in the United Kingdom. Ted Musgrave
Theodore Musgrave (born December 18, 1955) is an American former stock car racing driver. Pre-NASCAR Musgrave's father, Elmer, was a famous short-track racer in the Midwest who raced for over 25 years at Soldier Field, O'Hare, Waukegan, and Wilmot, Wisconsin before moving into asphalt late models in the American Speed Association (ASA) and ARCA. "I was really young at the time," Musgrave said. "But I can still remember sitting in the infield at Milwaukee and watching him race against drivers like Paul Goldsmith. He finally retired so he could help my older brother, Tom, and I get started." He began racing in 1977 at age 22 at Waukegan in a 1967 Ford Galaxy that he inherited from his brother. Fullerton ( ) is a city located in northern Orange County, California, United States. As of the 2020 census, the city had a total population of 143,617. Fullerton was founded in 1887. Baja 1000
The Baja 1000 is an annual Mexican off-road motorsport race held on the Baja California Peninsula. It is one of the most prestigious off-road races in the world, having attracted competitors from six continents. The race was founded by Ed Pearlman in 1967 and is sanctioned by SCORE International. The race is the final round of a four-race annual series, which also includes the San Felipe 250, the Baja 400 and the Baja 500. The 2017 Baja 1000 marked the 50th anniversary of the race. Robby Gordon Motorsports is a motorsports constructor owned by Robby Gordon. The company was formed in 2005 as a race team for Gordon's NASCAR career. James Peter Spencer (born February 15, 1957) is an American former racing driver, team owner, and television commentator. He is best known for competing in NASCAR. He hosted the NASCAR-inspired talk show, ''What’s the Deal?'', on Speed, and was co-host, with John Roberts and Kenny Wallace, of Speed's pre-race and post-race NASCAR shows ''NASCAR RaceDay'' and ''NASCAR Victory Lane''. Before retiring, Spencer had a segment on Speed's ''NASCAR Race Hub'' offering commentary and answering viewer questions (on Tuesdays and Thursdays). Ultra Motorsports was a NASCAR Winston Cup and Craftsman Truck Series racing team. Jim Smith helped start the team and the Craftsman Truck Series.
