Jim Norick
James Henry Norick (January 23, 1920 – March 4, 2015) was an American politician. He served as mayor of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma from 1959 to 1963 and 1967 to 1971. He was a member of the Democratic party. Norick also served on Oklahoma City council prior to serving as mayor, from 1951 to 1955. His son, Ron Norick, was also a mayor of Oklahoma City, serving from 1987 to 1998. He was the son of Henry Calvin and Ruth Norick. His father owned a printing business. Patience Sewell Latting (August 27, 1918 – December 29, 2012) was an American politician who served as Mayor of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, from 1971 to 1983. Latting was the first female Mayor of Oklahoma City. Early life Latting was born in Texhoma, Oklahoma, on August 27, 1918. She graduated from Classen High School in Oklahoma City. She received a bachelor's degree with honors in mathematics from the University of Oklahoma in 1938. In 1939, Latting obtained a master's degree in economics and statistics from Columbia University in New York City. Political career Latting became a member of both the Parent Teacher Association and the League of Women Voters. It was her membership in the League of Women Voters that led to her entry into the political realm in the early 1960s. Ronald J. Norick (born August 5, 1941) is an American politician. A Republican, he served as mayor of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma from 1988 to 1998. He is the son of James H. Rogers State University (RSU) is a public university in Claremore, Oklahoma. It also has branch campuses in Bartlesville and Pryor Creek. History The institution that is now RSU has gone through several stages, from its foundation as a state-sponsored preparatory school to its transition to a military academy, and finally to its current incarnation as a four-year regional university. It has its roots in the Eastern University Preparatory School, which was founded in 1909. Classen School of Advanced Studies, often referred to as Classen SAS, CSAS or simply Classen, is a public speciality school serving students in grades 9–12 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The Oklahoma City Public Schools program participates in the IB Diploma Programme and offers fine arts courses as well, offering art, drama, and music classes to any qualifying student.
