Jim Ned Consolidated Independent School District is a school district based in Tuscola, Texas (USA). The district serves approximately 1,000 students in southeastern Taylor County, including the towns of Tuscola, Buffalo Gap and Lawn. A small portion of northeastern Runnels County lies within the district. The district is named after the Jim Ned Creek, which runs through all three towns. The creek is named after Jim Ned, who was an Indian cavalry scout for the US Army. Taylor County is a county located in the U.S. state of Texas. As of the 2020 census, its population was 143,208. Its county seat is Abilene. The county was created in 1858 and later organized in 1878. It is named for Edward Taylor, George Taylor, and James Taylor, three brothers who died at the Battle of the Alamo. Buffalo Gap is an incorporated town in Taylor County, Texas, Taylor County, Texas, United States. It is part of the Abilene, Texas Abilene, Texas metropolitan area, Metropolitan Statistical Area. Runnels County, Texas
Runnels County is a county located in the U.S. state of Texas. As of the 2020 census, its population was 9,900. Its county seat is Ballinger. The county was created in 1858 and later organized in 1880. It is named for Hiram G. Runnels, a Texas state legislator. History The original inhabitants of the area were the Jumano, followed by the Comanche. In 1683–84, Juan Domínguez de Mendoza established a short-lived mission. Jim Ned Creek
Jim Ned Creek is a river in Texas. The stream rises outside of Tuscola and flows southeast for approximately 70 miles to Pecan Bayou at Lake Brownwood. The elevation is 434 metres. Jim Need Creek was dammed in 1966 to form Lake Coleman. The creek is named after Jim Ned, who was an Indian cavalry scout for the US Army. Daniel "Colt" McCoy (born September 5, 1986) is an American football quarterback for the Arizona Cardinals of the National Football League (NFL).
