Jim Nash (politician)
James A. Nash (born September 23, 1967) is an American politician serving in the Minnesota House of Representatives since 2015. A member of the Republican Party of Minnesota, Nash represents District 48A in the western Twin Cities metropolitan area, which includes the cities of Waconia, Victoria, and Chaska, and parts of Carver County. Early life, education, and career James Alexander Nash was born on September 23, 1967, in Bay Shore, New York. When he was a child, his family moved around the United States often, traveling to Minnesota in 1968, Colorado in 1975, Texas in 1984, and Arkansas (where he met his wife Kim) in 1986. Jim and Kim Nash lived in Nebraska from 1992 until 2002. Nash graduated from the University of Nebraska Omaha with a B.A. in geographic information systems and political geography. Ernest Gilbert "Ernie" Leidiger (born August 7, 1953) is from Wisconsin. He entered the U.S. Navy in 1971 and was stationed at several facilities and ships throughout his career. He retired as a Naval Officer and established businesses in California and Minnesota. He was a former member of the Minnesota House of Representatives and a member of the Republican Party of Minnesota. Chaska is a city and the county seat of Carver County, Minnesota, United States. An outer ring suburb of the Twin Cities, Chaska is home to the Hazeltine National Golf Club and is known for its historic downtown area located on a bend of the Minnesota River. The Metropolitan Council, commonly abbreviated Met Council or Metro Council, is the regional governmental agency and metropolitan planning organization in Minnesota serving the Twin Cities seven-county metropolitan area, accounting for over 55 percent of the state's population. It is one of two multi-county regional governments in the United States, the other being the Portland Metro.
