Jim Mackenzie (American Football)
James Alexander Mackenzie (January 15, 1930 – April 28, 1967) was an American football player and coach, the head coach at the University of Oklahoma for one season in 1966. Early years From Gary, Indiana, Mackenzie played college football at the University of Kentucky for head coach Bear Bryant, and was an assistant coach under Frank Broyles for nine years, one at the University of Missouri and eight at the University of Arkansas. Oklahoma After the 1965 season, Mackenzie was hired as the head coach at the University of Oklahoma in December. He succeeded Gomer Jones, a longtime Sooner assistant who had failed to match the success of the legendary Bud Wilkinson, but remained as athletic director. The Sooners' 3–7 record under Jones in 1965 was the worst in program history (until 1996). James Stuart-Mackenzie PC FRSE FSA (30 October 1718 – 8 April 1800) was a Scottish politician and joint founder of the Royal Society of Edinburgh in 1783. The second son of James Stuart, 2nd Earl of Bute, he served as Member of Parliament for various Scottish constituencies of the Parliament of the United Kingdom from 1742 to 1780. Stuart-Mackenzie was the list of diplomats of the United Kingdom to Sardinia, British Minister at Turin from 1758 to 1761. He was made a Her Majesty's Most Honourable Privy Council, Privy Councillor in 1761, and served as Keeper of the Privy Seal of Scotland from 1763 to 1765, and again from the following year until his death in 1800. James MacKenzie (born 6 January 1986), better known as Kenzie or James Kenzie, is a British rapper, DJ, actor and personal trainer, who was formerly a member of ten-piece hip-hop group Blazin' Squad. He was also part of the R&B/pop supergroup 5th Story, set up for ''The Big Reunion'' in 2013. Music Blazin' Squad (2001–06) Blazin' Squad were a ten-piece hip hop group. They enjoyed moderate success in the UK, achieving six consecutive Top 10 hits, including the number one single "Tha Crossroads", which is a cover version of the Bone Thugs-N-Harmony song. James Hewat McKenzie (1869–1929) was a British parapsychologist, and the founder of the British College of Psychic Science. James Cameron Mackenzie (1852–1931) was an American educator and Presbyterian minister, born in Aberdeen, Scotland. Early life and education The son of Alexander and Catherine Mackenzie, he was born on August 15, 1852. He came to America when he was a boy (circa 1855–58), studied in the public schools of Wilkes-Barre, Pa., in the Bloomsburg Normal School in Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania, at Phillips Exeter Academy, and at Lafayette College, where he graduated in 1878. James Mckenzie (or in his native gd, Seumas MacCoinnich), possibly born in Ross-shire, Scotland, in 1820 was an outlaw who has become one of New Zealand's most enduring folk heroes. The correct spelling of Mckenzie is unclear and he is variously referred to as James, John or Jock. His surname has been spelt as both 'MacKenzie' and 'McKenzie' – the latter being more commonly used. He may also have had at least one alias, John Douglass. Mckenzie emigrated to Australia in about 1849, arriving in Melbourne where he purchased a team of bullocks for carrying goods to the gold-diggings. He managed to save £1,000 and moved to New Zealand, arriving at Nelson. He worked as a drover in Canterbury before moving on to Otago where he applied for a land grant in the Mataura district.
