Jim Logue
James Brian Logue (born March 25, 1939) is an American former ice hockey goaltender, Olympian and coach. Career After graduating from Boston College in 1961, Logue played with United States men's national ice hockey team, Team USA at the Ice hockey at the 1968 Winter Olympics, 1968 Winter Olympics held in Grenoble, France. He appeared in only one game, allowing 10 goals on 42 shots in 40 minutes against the gold medal-winning Soviet Union men's national ice hockey team, Soviet team. Logue ended his playing days shortly thereafter and began his coaching career as an assistant with Merrimack Warriors men's ice hockey, Merrimack. Logue worked off and on with the Warriors for nearly 20 years, helping the program win numerous championships, including the inaugural NCAA Division II men's ice hockey tournament, Division II tournament in 1978 NCAA Division II men's ice hockey tournament, 1978. Goaltender
In ice hockey, the goaltender (commonly referred to as the goalie) is the player responsible for preventing the hockey puck from entering their team's net, thus preventing the opposing team from scoring. The goaltender mostly plays in or near the area in front of the net called the ''Ice hockey rink#Crease, goal crease'' (often referred to simply as '' the crease''). Goaltenders tend to stay at or beyond the top of the crease to cut down on the angle of shots. In the modern age of goaltending there are two common styles, butterfly and hybrid (hybrid is a mix of the traditional stand-up style and butterfly technique). Because of the power of shots, the goaltender wears special equipment to protect the body from direct impact.
