Jim Houghton (politician)
James Edward Hiram Houghton (13 September 1911 – 21 January 1985) was a member of the Queensland Legislative Assembly. Biography Houghton was born in Sydney, New South Wales, the son of James Houghton and his wife Emily (née Corscadden) and the family moved to Queensland when he was still young. He was educated at Humpybong State School in Redcliffe before attending the Brisbane Technical College. The Parliament of Queensland is the legislature of Queensland, Australia. Proston is a rural town and locality in the South Burnett Region, Queensland, Australia. Geography The town is located north-west of the state capital, Brisbane northwest of the South Burnett regions commercial centre, Kingaroy and south of Lake Boondooma. It is the closest supporting township to Lake Boondooma and has a variety of shops including post office, grocery store (SPAR), pub (Golden Spurs), chemist, medical centre, hardware, cafe, and clothing store.
