Jim Hargrove
James Edwin Hargrove (born October 5, 1953) is an American forester and politician who served as a member of the Washington State Senate, representing the 24th district from 1993 to 2017. Washington's 24th legislative district is one of forty-nine districts in Washington state for representation in the state legislature. The district encompasses most of the Olympic Peninsula, including all of Clallam and Jefferson counties and most of Grays Harbor County. Washington State Senate
The Washington State Senate is the upper house of the Washington State Legislature. The body consists of 49 members, each representing a district with a population of nearly 160,000. The State Senate meets at the Legislative Building in Olympia. As with the lower House of Representatives, state senators serve without term limits, though senators serve four-year terms. Senators are elected from the same legislative districts as House members, with each district electing one senator and two representatives. Terms are staggered so that half the Senate is up for reelection every two years. A forester is a person who practises forestry, the science, art, and profession of managing forests. Foresters engage in a broad range of activities including ecological restoration and management of protected areas. Foresters manage forests to provide a variety of objectives including direct extraction of raw material, outdoor recreation, conservation, hunting and aesthetics.
