Jim Fogarty (hurler)
James Fogarty (born 1950) is an Irish former hurler. At club level he played with Moyne–Templetuohy and was also a member of the Tipperary senior hurling team. Career Fogarty first played hurling at juvenile and underage levels with Moyne–Templetuohy. He progressed onto the club's senior team and captained the side to the Tippearry SHC title in 1971. Fogarty first appeared on the inter-county scene for Tipperary at minor and under-21 levels, however, his underage career ended without success as Cork was the dominant team at the time. Fogarty joined the senior team in 1969 and was a substitute when Tipperary beat Kilkenny by 5-17 to 5-14 in the 1971 All-Ireland final. He also lined out with Munster in the Railway Cup. Moyne–Templetuohy GAA
Moyne–Templetuohy Hurling and Football Club is a Gaelic Athletic Association club recruiting from the village of Templetuohy and the adjoining townland of Moyne, in County Tipperary, Ireland. It participates in the leagues and championships of the GAA's Mid Tipperary division, and in the county-wide competitions of Tipperary GAA. While several sports are played, hurling is predominant in the club. History Shortly after the foundation of the GAA in 1884, separate clubs were formed in Moyne and Templetuohy. Moyne's hurlers defeated Tullaroan (of Kilkenny) in Johnstown by 2-2 to nil in the club's first known match in 1887. Templetuohy played Gortnahoe on the same day. The clubs continued as separate entities for almost 50 years, with Templetuohy allying with Castleiney in the 1910s to play as 'Templetuohy and Castleiney United'. Mid Tipperary Senior Hurling Championship
The Mid Tipperary Senior Hurling Championship (known for sponsorship reasons as the Centenary Agri Mid Tipperary Senior Hurling Championship) is an annual hurling competition organised by the Mid Tipperary Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association since 1907 for senior hurling teams in Mid Tipperary, Ireland. The series of games begin in April, with the championship culminating with the final in August. The championship has always been played using a knock-out format. The Mid Tipperary Championship was, until recent times, an integral part of the wider Tipperary Senior Hurling Championship. The GAA Interprovincial Championship ( ga, An Corn Idir-Chúigeach) or Railway Cup (''Corn an Iarnróid'') is the name of two annual Gaelic football and hurling competitions held between the provinces of Ireland. The Connacht, Leinster, Munster and Ulster GAA teams are composed of the best players from the counties in each province. The games are organised by the Gaelic Athletic Association. The Railway Cup was a revival of the Railway Shield which ran from 1905 to 1907 (football) and from 1905 to 1908 (hurling).
