Jim English
Jim English (October 1932 – 23 February 2008) was an Irish hurler who played as a right wing-back for the Wexford senior team. English joined the team during the 1951 championship and subsequently became a regular member of the starting fifteen until his retirement after the 1964 championship. During that time he won three All-Ireland medals, five Leinster medals and two National Hurling League medals. In 1956 English captained the team to the All-Ireland title. At club level English enjoyed a successful career with Rathnure in Wexford and later with Erin's Own in Carlow. He won numerous club championship winners' medals in both codes. Playing career Club English began his club hurling career with Rathnure and enjoyed much success. Cork GAA
The Cork County Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) ( ga, Cumann Luthchleas Gael Coiste Contae Chorcaí) or Cork GAA is one of the 32 county boards of the GAA in Ireland, and is responsible for Gaelic games in County Cork and the Cork county teams. Seán McLoughlin (hurler)
Seán McLoughlin (born 1935) is an Irish retired hurler who played as a left corner-forward for the Tipperary senior team. Born in Rahealty, County Tipperary, McLoughlin first played competitive hurling during his schooling at Thurles CBS. He arrived on the inter-county scene at the age of sixteen when he first linked up with the Tipperary minor team. He joined the senior panel during the 1958 championship. McLoughlin went on to play a key role for during a hugely successful era for the team, and won four All-Ireland medals, seven Munster medals and two National Hurling League medals. He was an All-Ireland runner-up on three occasions. As a member of the Munster inter-provincial team on a number of occasions, McLoughlin won one Railway Cup medal. At club level he is a ten-time championship medallist with Thurles Sarsfields. Throughout his career McLoughlin made 26 championship appearances. Tom Moloughney
Thomas Moloughney (23 October 1940 – 6 March 2021) was an Irish hurler who played at club level with Kilruane MacDonagh's and at inter-county level with Tipperary. Career Born in Ardcroney, Moloughney was a member of the Kilruane MacDonagh's club. Having never played minor at inter-county level, he first played for Tipperary in a National League game against Galway in October 1959 after impressive club displays. After claiming the league title, McLoughney's debut season ended with him collecting the first of three successive Munster Championship medals. After losing the 1960 All-Ireland final to Wexford, Tipperary went on to claim the following two titles, with Moloughney lining out in the full-forward line in both those victories. His last appearance came as a substitute in the 1963 National League final. Oliver McGrath
Oliver 'Hopper' McGrath (born 1938 in Wexford, Ireland) is a former Irish sportsman. He played hurling with his local club Faythe Harriers and at senior level for the Wexford county team in the 1950s and 1960s. Playing career Club McGrath played his club hurling with the Faythe Harriers club in Wexford. He had much success, beginning with the capturing of three minor county titles in a row from 1954 to 1956. He was a key part of the team when the club collected their first senior county title in 1960. McGrath added two further county medals to his collection in 1962 and 1965. During this time Faythe Harriers were also regarded as the unofficial Leinster club champions. Liam MacCarthy Cup
The Liam MacCarthy Cup is a trophy awarded annually by the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) to the team that wins the All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship, the main competition in the prehistoric sport of hurling. Based on the design of a medieval drinking vessel, the trophy was first awarded in 1923 to the winners of the (delayed) 1921 All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship Final. The original 1920s trophy was retired in the 1990s, with a new identical trophy awarded annually since 1992. The original trophy is on permanent display in the GAA Museum at Croke Park in Dublin. The GAA organises the series of games, which are played during the summer months. The All-Ireland Hurling Final was traditionally played on the first or second Sunday in September at Croke Park in Dublin. Art Foley
Michael Arthur Foley (14 December 1928 – 28 October 2019) was an Irish hurler who played as a goalkeeper for the Wexford senior team. Born in Enniscorthy, County Wexford, Foley first arrived on the inter-county scene at the age of seventeen when he first linked up with the Wexford minor team. He joined the senior panel during the 1946–47 league. Foley later became a regular member of the starting fifteen, and won two All-Ireland medals, three Leinster medals and one National Hurling League medal. He was an All-Ireland runner-up on one occasion. As a member of the Leinster inter-provincial team on a number of occasions, Foley won one Railway Cup medal. At club level he was a seven-time championship medallist with St Aidan's. Foley retired from inter-county hurling following the conclusion of the 1957 championship. Christy Ring
Nicholas Christopher Michael Ring (30 October 1920 – 2 March 1979) was an Irish hurling, hurler whose National Hurling League, league and All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship, championship career at senior level with the Cork county hurling team, Cork county team spanned twenty-four years from 1939 to 1963. He established many All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship records and statistics, championship records, including career appearances (65), scoring tally (33-208) and number of All-Ireland medals won (8); however, these records were subsequently bested by a number of players.
