James Dunn (Australian Politician)
James Patrick Digger Dunn (born James Patrick Dunn; 20 August 1887 – 21 November 1945) was an Australian politician who served as a Australian Senate, Senator for New South Wales from 1929 to 1935. He was elected as a member of the Australian Labor Party (ALP), but after the Australian Labor Party split of 1931, 1931 party split joined the breakaway Lang Labor faction. He was one of only two Lang Labor senators, but was designated as the party's Senate leader. Dunn was a trade unionist and World War I soldier before entering politics. He was a perennial candidate for state and federal office between 1919 and 1945, but won only a single election. Early life Dunn was born "probably" in Kirkdale, Liverpool, England. The Stylistics are an American, Philadelphia soul group that achieved their greatest chart success in the 1970s. They formed in 1968, with a lineup of singers Russell Thompkins Jr., Herb Murrell, Airrion Love, James Smith and James Dunn. All of their US hits were ballads characterized by the falsetto of Russell Thompkins Jr. and the production of Thom Bell. James Nicol Dunn (12 October 185630 June 1919) was a Scottish journalist and newspaper editor, best known as the editor of London newspaper ''The Morning Post'' from 1897 to 1905 and as London editor of the ''Glasgow Evening News'' from 1914 until his death in 1919. James Stanley Dunn (6 January 1928 – 31 January 2020) was an Australian public servant and diplomat. He was Australia's consul in Portuguese Timor from 1962 to 1964. In 1977 Dunn's report on war crimes and crimes against humanity committed by Indonesian troops in East Timor was released, prompting international attention. He alleged that American weapons had been used in the Indonesian invasion of East Timor in 1975. He also argued that Australia's policy related to East Timor was inadequate. James Howard Dunn (November 2, 1901September 1, 1967), billed as Jimmy Dunn in his early career, was an American stage, film, and television actor, and vaudeville performer. The son of a New York stockbroker, he initially worked in his father's firm but was more interested in theater. Sir James Hamet Dunn, 1st Baronet (October 29, 1874 – January 1, 1956) was a Canadian financier and industrialist during the first half of the 20th century. He is recognized chiefly for his 1935 rescue and subsequent 20-year presidency and proprietorship of Algoma Steel.
