James Robert Campbell (born June 24, 1937 in Palo Alto, California) is an American former professional baseball player, a catcher who played 82 games in the Major Leagues for the Houston Colt .45s during and . He threw and batted right-handed, stood tall and weighed . Campbell was acquired by the Colt .45s over a full season before the team played an official big-league game. He'd signed originally with the Pittsburgh Pirates in 1955, was briefly loaned to the Chicago White Sox organization, and played for six seasons without reaching the Double-A level. After the 1960 minor-league season, he was drafted by the Milwaukee Braves, then traded on February 23, 1961, to the newborn Colt .45s, founded as a National League expansion team set to debut in 1962. James Arthur Campbell (February 5, 1924 – October 31, 1995) was an American baseball executive in Major League Baseball. He worked for the Detroit Tigers for 43 seasons from 1949 to 1992. He was the team's general manager from September 1962 to September 1983, its president from August 1978 to January 1990, and its chairman from January 1990 to August 1992. The Tigers won two World Series championships (1968 and 1984) during Campbell's tenure with the club. He was selected as the Major League Baseball executive of the year in 1968 and was inducted into the Michigan Sports Hall of Fame in 1985. Jim Campbell (born 1977), also known by his pseudonym "Angry Jim", is an American storyboard artist, comic artist, and musician living in Brooklyn, New York. Biography Early life and illustration work While studying at the Kansas City Art Institute, he founded the band Ottomen with fellow Illustration students David (Misung) Stevenson and George Garcia. In 2000, he moved to New York, and in 2001, he joined Meathaus, a comics art collective and the publisher of the Meathaus Anthologies.
