Jill Rappaport (born September 27, 1956) is an American journalist, animal advocate, and author. She has reported for ''The Today Show'' for over 22-years as well as ''NBC Nightly News'' and NBC affiliates. She was the creator, host, and executive producer of the animal welfare program, "Best in Shelter with Jill Rappaport," for NBC. Jericho is a hamlet and census-designated place (CDP) in Nassau County, New York, United States, on the North Shore of Long Island, approximately 29 miles (47 km) east of Midtown Manhattan. Its population was 13,567 as of the U.S. 2010 Census. The area is served by the Jericho Union Free and the Syosset Central School Districts, the boundaries of which differ somewhat from those of the hamlet.
