Jif (lemon Juice)
Jif is a brand of natural strength lemon juice prepared using lemon juice concentrate and water, whereby the concentrate is reconstituted using water. After reconstitution, it is packaged and marketed. It is sold in the United Kingdom and Ireland by Unilever. Jif is used as a flavourant and ingredient in dishes, and as a condiment. Two tablespoons is around the equivalent of the juice of one lemon. The product has a shelf life of six months. Jif is packaged in lemon-shaped squeezable containers and in bottles. Development of the plastic container began in the 1950s; it was one of the original blow moulded containers used for food applications. Jif brand lemon juice was established in 1956. The "Jif Lemon case" occurred in the 1980s, when the US company Borden introduced lemon juice packaged in a similar container to the UK. Reckitt & Coleman sued Borden for passing off. Jif (peanut Butter)
Jif is an American brand of peanut butter made by The J.M. Smucker Company, which purchased the brand from Procter & Gamble in 2001. In 1955, Procter & Gamble bought Big Top peanut butter and its manufacturing facilities in Lexington, Kentucky from William T. Young. In the ensuing years, the company reformulated and rebranded it to compete with Skippy and Peter Pan. P&G named its product Jif, used oils other than peanut oil in its hydrogenation process, and sweetened the recipe, adding sugar and molasses. The new product was publicly announced in April 1956, as tests of the product began in select markets. The original ''Creamy'' and ''Crunchy'' style Jif peanut butters both made their nationwide debut in 1958. In 1974, ''Extra Crunchy Jif'' was introduced, followed in 1991 by ''Simply Jif'', a peanut butter variant with low sodium and less sugar than regular Jif. The Jaipur International Film Festival (JIFF) is held annually in Jaipur, India, since 2009. The festival is conducted by the Jaipur International Film Festival Trust. Jeonju International Film Festival
Jeonju International Film Festival (JIFF, Korean: 전주국제영화제, Hanja: 全州國際映畵祭) is an Asian film festival. It was launched in 2000 as a non-competitive film festival with partial competition. It introduces independent and experimental films to focus on the alternative course of contemporary film art. In the first edition of JIFF, debut films of Darren Aronofsky were introduced to South Korea. For the first time in Asia, Jiff highlighted early works of Béla Tarr as well. The winners of Jeonju IFF's ''International Competition Section'' include Ying Liang, John Akomfrah and Miike Takashi. Another point of Jeonju is that it produces movies as well. Jiffs
Jiffs was a slang term used by British Intelligence, and later the 14th Army, to denote soldiers of the Indian National Army after the failed First Arakan offensive of 1943. The term is derived from the acronym ''JIFC'', short for Japanese-Indian (or -inspired) fifth column. It came to be employed in a propaganda offensive in June 1943 within the British Indian Army as a part of the efforts to preserve the loyalty of the Indian troops at Battle of Imphal, Manipur after suffering desertion and losses at Burma campaign, Burma during the First Arakan Offensive. After the end of the war, the term "HIFFs" (from Hitler-inspired-fifth-columnists) was also used for repatriated troops of the Indian Legion awaiting trial.
