Jia Zhibang
Jia Zhibang (; born November 1946) is a Chinese politician, who served between 2005 and 2012 as the Director of State Forestry Administration. He also previously held the post of Governor of Shaanxi province. Career Born in Wuqi, Shaanxi Province, Jia graduated from Renmin University of China, majoring in national economic management. He joined Communist Party of China in April 1962, and had served in various posts in Shaanxi for many years. In May 1993, he was promoted to the provincial Party Standing Committee, and the vice governor of Shaanxi. Later, he became deputy party secretary of Shaanxi, acting governor and later governor. In October 2004, Jia was transferred to Beijing and was appointed as executive deputy Minister of Civil Affairs (minister-rank). In December 2005, he became the director of State Forestry Administration. It was founded in 1949 as Ministry of Forestry and Farming. On November 5, 1951, it changed to Ministry of Forestry, and the farming section was transferred to Ministry of Agriculture. On March 10, 1998, it was renamed State Forestry Administration. On 10 April 2018, following a wider national institution reform, the name was changed to State Forestry and Grassland Administration. The administration is under management of the Ministry of Natural Resources. Chen Deming
Chen Deming (; born 1949) is a former the President of Association for Relations Across the Taiwan Straits of the People's Republic of China. Early life Chen was born in Shanghai in 1949. He went on to receive a Bachelor's Degree in Economics, a Master's Degree from the Hopkins-Nanjing Center, and later a Doctorate in Administration from Nanjing University Business School. In 1969 he joined the workforce and in September 1974, Chen joined the Communist Party of China. Political life Chen was Mayor and later CPC Committee Secretary of Suzhou. He then was the Governor of Shaanxi from 2004 to 2006. Then he was a Deputy at the National Development and Reform Commission, where he largely dealt with matters pertaining to China's energy policy. Cheng Andong (; born October 1936) is a Chinese politician who served as governor of Shaanxi from 1994 to 2002. Zhou Shengxian (; born December 1949) is a retired Chinese politician who served as the inaugural Minister of Environmental Protection. Biography Zhou was born in Wuzhong, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region. He joined the Chinese Communist Party in 1972, and is a senior economist. He began his career as a middle school teacher. Eventually he rose to become Secretary-General of the Ningxia Autonomous Regional government, then Vice-Chairman of Ningxia, then he became deputy director of the State Forestry Administration. He became Minister of Environmental Protection in 2008, after the ministry was reformed from the Environment Protection Bureau. The ministry was given more powers than the Bureau.
