Jetstrike
''Jetstrike'' is a horizontally scrolling shooter published in 1994. It was originally released for the Amiga, and also for the Amiga 1200 as an AGA version, then released again on the Amiga CD32. Gameplay ''Jetstrike'' is a side scrolling shooter, similar in feel to '' Defender'' (1981) and '' Wings of Fury'' (1987) with a wrap around screen and left-to-right-to-left turning across the landscape. ''Jetstrike'' includes 200 aircraft to choose from each with a slightly different feel and almost as many weapons with which to shoot down aircraft or blow up ground-based enemies. ''Amiga Power'' (''AP'') was a monthly magazine about Amiga video games. It was published in the United Kingdom by Future plc, and ran for 65 issues, from May 1991 to September 1996. Philosophy ''Amiga Power'' had several principles which comprised its philosophy regarding games. Like almost all Amiga magazines of the time, they marked games according to a percentage scale. However, ''Amiga Power'' firmly believed that the full range of this scale should be used when reviewing games. A game of average quality rated on this scale would therefore be awarded 50%. Stuart Campbell offered some rationale for this in his review of '' Kick Off '96'' in the final issue of the magazine: Amiga magazines at the time tended to give "average" games marks of around 70%, and rarely gave scores below 50%. ''Wings of Fury'' is a scrolling shooter, with some combat flight simulator elements, written for the Apple II by Steve Waldo and released in 1987 by Broderbund. The player assumes the role of a pilot of an American F6F Hellcat plane aboard the USS ''Wasp'' in the Pacific during World War II. It was released in 1989 for the X68000 and in 1990 for Amstrad CPC, Commodore 64, Amiga, and MS-DOS compatible operating systems. A Game Boy Color version was published in 1999. Amiga is a family of personal computers introduced by Commodore in 1985. The original model is one of a number of mid-1980s computers with 16- or 32-bit processors, 256 KB or more of RAM, mouse-based GUIs, and significantly improved graphics and audio compared to previous 8-bit systems. This includes the Atari ST—released earlier the same year—as well as the Macintosh and Acorn Archimedes. ''Defender'' is a scrolling shooter video game developed by WMS Industries, Williams Electronics in 1980 and released for Arcade game, arcades in 1981. Amiga Advanced Graphics Architecture
Amiga Advanced Graphics Architecture (AGA) is the third-generation Amiga graphic chipset, first used in the Amiga 4000 in 1992. Before release AGA was codenamed Pandora by Commodore International. AGA was originally called AA for Advanced Architecture in the United States. The name was later changed to AGA for the European market to reflect that it largely improved the graphical subsystem, and to avoid trademark issues. AGA is able to display graphics modes with a depth of up to s per pixel. This allows for in indexed display modes and (18-bit) in Hold-And-Modify (HAM-8) modes. The Amiga 1200, or A1200 (code-named " Channel Z"), is a personal computer in the Amiga computer family released by Commodore International, aimed at the home computer market.
