Jesswar
Jesswar, is a Fijian Australian artist based on Yugambeh/Kombumerri country. Jesswar's debut single, "Savage", released in 2017 and was followed by debut EP ''Tropixx'' in 2021 and debut mixtape ''LIFE'S SHORT, LIVE BIG'' in 2022. In 2021, Jesswar was a winner at the Queensland Music Awards and the APRA Professional Development Awards. Early life Born in Canberra, Jesswar grew up partly in Fiji and partly on the Gold Coast, Queensland. They left home at 16 years old, studying music at TAFE Queensland, and later at the Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University. In 2012 Jesswar formed a four-piece pop rap band, Sneeky Picnic, with fellow students. DZ Deathrays
DZ Deathrays (previously Denzel then DZ) are an Australian dance-punk trio from Brisbane, Queensland. Composed of Shane Parsons (vocals/guitar), Lachlan Ewbank (lead guitar/vocals) and Simon Ridley (drums), they put out two EPs before releasing their debut album, ''Bloodstreams'', in April 2012. The album won the ARIA Award for Best Hard Rock or Heavy Metal Album at the ARIA Music Awards of 2012. Okenyo
Zindzi Okenyo is a television and theatre actress, and musician from Sydney. A graduate of the National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA), she is a presenter on '' Play School'', and performs music professionally under the stage name Okenyo. She is best known for the song "Woman's World", from her debut EP album, ''The Wave''. Career Music In 2013, Okenyo signed to the promotional label Niche Productions, and in 2016 to indie record Label Elefant Traks. Her debut musical track, "Broken Chest" was released in 2013. "Woman's World" was nominated for Best Song on FBi Radio in 2017. The song was chosen for the Women's National Basketball League 2017 Campaign, and was also used in a US Apple Instagram Promotion. The 2022 AIR Awards is the sixteenth annual Australian Independent Record Labels Association Music Awards ceremony (generally known as the AIR Awards). It took place on 4 August 2022 in Adelaide. PIAS Recordings (formerly Play It Again Sam) is a Belgian record label founded in 1983 by Kenny Gates and Michel Lambot. Play It Again Sam expanded along with other European independent labels in the early 1980s. The St. Jerome's Laneway Festival, commonly referred to as Laneway, began in Caledonian Lane, Melbourne, Australia, in 2005. Beginning as predominantly an indie music event, the festival grew in popularity and expanded to five Australian cities—Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide and Fremantle—as well as Auckland, New Zealand and Singapore. History 2005 St. Jerome's Laneway Festival had its roots in the "St. Jerome's Summer Series" each Sunday afternoon, created by Jerome Borazio and Danny Rogers and featuring new bands of the time, including The Presets and Architecture in Helsinki. Erica Banks is an American rapper born and raised in DeSoto, Texas. Following the release of her first three mixtapes, she signed to 1501 Certified Entertainment, who released her self-titled mixtape in June 2020.
