Jessie Cannizzaro is an American actress, best known for her roles in the long-running off-Broadway comedy '' Puffs, or Seven Increasingly Eventful Years at a Certain School of Magic and Magic'' and the Amazon Studios feature film '' Selah and the Spades.'' Life and career Cannizzaro was born in New York City, where she was student body president at the Bronx High School of Science. She went on to study Theater and Political Science at Swarthmore College. Puffs, Or Seven Increasingly Eventful Years At A Certain School Of Magic And Magic
''Puffs, or Seven Increasingly Eventful Years at a Certain School of Magic and Magic'' is a 2015 original play by New York-based playwright Matt Cox. The play is a parody of the Harry Potter book series by J. K. Rowling, but from the perspective of the " Puffs". The play premiered at The People's Improv Theater on December 3, 2015. It moved to the Off-Broadway theater New World Stages in 2016. The show has been praised for its comedy and staging. It was nominated for the Off-Broadway Alliance Award for "Best Unique Theatrical Experience" in 2017. Background Cox told SyFy Wire that he was currently working on another show he had written and worked on with McCarthy called "Kapow - i GoGo", a play split into three parts that ran about 4.5 hours when put together about different nerdy cartoons, franchises, and "sci-fi stuff" (Cox's words). New World Stages is a five-theater, Off-Broadway performing arts complex in the Hell's Kitchen neighborhood of Manhattan in New York City. It is between 49th and 50th Streets beneath the plaza of the Worldwide Plaza complex at Eighth Avenue. History Constructed on the site of the third Madison Square Garden, New World Stages was originally built as a Loews Cineplex Entertainment multiplex cinema at Worldwide Plaza.
