Betty Jo Charlton
Betty Jo Charlton (June 15, 1923 – July 22, 2014) was an American politician. Born in Reno County, Kansas, Charlton went to the University of Kansas. She then worked in the Charlton Insurance Agency where she meet her husband. Charlton served in the Kansas House of Representatives from 1980 until 1994 as a Democrat; she was originally appointed in 1980 to replace Michael Glover, who resigned his seat, and then was re-elected in her own right. Sandy Praeger
Sandy Praeger (born October 21, 1944) is a former politician from the U.S. state of Kansas who served as the Kansas Insurance Commissioner from 2003 to 2015. Prior to her term as insurance commissioner, she was a member of the Kansas Senate and Kansas House of Representatives, and served as mayor of Lawrence, Kansas. Although she won her elections as a Republican, she disagreed with the more conservative faction in her party, eventually leading her to endorse a Democrat to succeed her as insurance commissioner. Lawrence is the county seat of Douglas County, Kansas, Douglas County, Kansas, United States, and the sixth-largest city in the state. The Kansas House of Representatives is the lower house of the legislature of the U.S. state of Kansas.
