Jesse Marsh
Jesse Marsh (July 27, 1907 – April 28, 1966) was an American comics artist and animator. His main claim to fame is his work on the early ''Tarzan'' and related books for Western Publishing that saw print through Dell Comics and later Gold Key Comics. He was the first artist to produce original Tarzan comic books. Up to that time, all Tarzan comics were reprints from the newspaper strips. He also worked on the '' Gene Autry'' comic book for many years. Prior to working for Western, he had worked for the Walt Disney Company, doing animation work for ''Make Mine Music'' and some ''Pluto'' cartoons as well. He would turn the ''Tarzan'' series over to Russ Manning in 1965 due to failing health. In 2009, Dark Horse Comics announced an archive reprint series of his work on Tarzan entitled ''Tarzan: The Jesse Marsh Years''. Florence is a city in, and the county seat of, Lauderdale County, Alabama, United States, in the state's northwestern corner. Batmania
''Batmania'' is a term coined by Billy Joe (Biljo) White in the early 1960s and the title of his influential fanzine dedicated to the DC comic book character Batman. The name is "almost certainly" a nod to the then-prominent term "Beatlemania" used to describe the impact of the Beatles in popular culture. When White first published ''Batmania'', interest in the Batman character was at a low point; however, due to changes credited largely to DC editor Julie Schwartz, comic sales improved and the character built a wave of popularity that led to the 1966 Batman television show. White and his fanzine were credited with helping to focus the energy of the dedicated fans during this time. Alex Toth
Alexander Toth (June 25, 1928 – May 27, 2006) was an American cartoonist active from the 1940s through the 1980s. Toth's work began in the American comic book industry, but he is also known for his animation designs for Hanna-Barbera throughout the 1960s and 1970s.
