Jesse Clegg
Jesse Clegg (born July 25, 1988) is a South African singer-songwriter, guitarist and pianist, whose three studio albums, ''When I Wake Up'', his 2011 follow up ''Life on Mars'', and his latest, ''Things Unseen'', have made Clegg a platinum-selling success in his home country. He is the son of Johnny Clegg, who was a prominent musician and anti-apartheid activist. Biography The son of Johnny Clegg, Jesse spent the first six years of his life on tour with his father. After the widespread acclaim of his first album, Clegg's music caught the attention of the Canadian record producer David Bottrill. He subsequently moved to Toronto for four months to work with Bottrill who produced his second album. ''Life on Mars'' was recorded at Metalworks Studios in Mississauga, Ontario. Another notable contributor was the recording engineer Bob Ludwig who mastered the album in New York. In 2014, Clegg brought his music to the international stage. Radio City Music Hall is an entertainment venue and Theater (structure), theater at 1260 Sixth Avenue (Manhattan), Avenue of the Americas, within Rockefeller Center, in the Midtown Manhattan neighborhood of New York City. South African Music Awards
The South African Music Awards (often simply the SAMAs) are the Recording Industry of South Africa's music industry awards, established in 1995. The ceremony is held annually, usually in late April or May, with the judging process starting in November of the previous year. The nominations are typically announced at the end of March. The winners receive a gold-plated statuette called a SAMA. The show has mostly been held at the Super Bowl in Sun City, with the exception of three years, and broadcast live on national broadcaster, SABC. The ceremony features live performances as once-off collaborations by a selection of nominees. Awards As of the 26th SAMAs, in 2020, there are a total of thirty categories awarded. Isle Of Wight Festival
The Isle of Wight Festival is a British music festival which takes place annually in Newport on the Isle of Wight, England. It was originally a counterculture event held from 1968 to 1970. The 1970 event was by far the largest of these early festivals and the unexpectedly high attendance levels led, in 1971, to Parliament adding a section to the Isle of Wight County Council Act 1971 preventing overnight open-air gatherings of more than 5,000 people on the island without a special licence from the council. The event was revived in 2002. Original festival The original events were promoted and organised by the Foulk brothers (Ron and Ray Foulk) under the banner of their company Fiery Creations Limited and their younger brother Bill Foulk.
