Jesper Olsen (speedway Rider)
Jesper Ege Olsen (born 10 February 1967) is a former motorcycle speedway rider from Denmark. Career Olsen started racing in the British leagues during the 1991 British League season, when riding for the Wimbledon Dons but following the Dons withdrawal from the league in June, he completed the season with Eastbourne Eagles. The following season in 1992, he signed for Glasgow Tigers and would spend four years with the Scottish club. He was part of the famous Glasgow league and cup double/double winning team during the 1993 British League Division Two season and 1994 British League Division Two season. He rode for Middlesbrough Bears in 1996 before joining Newcastle Diamonds in 1997. It was with Newcastle that his form improved significantly averaging over eight for five successive seasons and recording an impressive 9.68 in 1999. He also captained the Diamonds. Valby
Valby () is one of the 10 official districts of Copenhagen, Denmark. It is in the southwestern corner of Copenhagen Municipality, and has a mixture of different types of housing. Owlerton Stadium
Owlerton Stadium, also known as Sheffield Stadium, is a purpose-built speedway track built in 1929 which also hosts greyhound racing The track is in Owlerton near Hillsborough in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England. Greyhound racing takes place on Tuesday, Friday and Saturday evenings and every Monday and Thursday afternoon. There is a modern glass-fronted Panorama Restaurant accommodating up to 300 people, executive suites, fast food facilities and a number of bars. The stadium is also home to the Sheffield Tigers Speedway team and hosts BriSCA Formula One stock car racing events. Speedway takes place on a Thursday evening and the stadium has a total capacity for 4,000 spectators. It is operated by the A & S Leisure Group, the majority shareholder of which is Dave Allen. The Premier League Riders Championship was a contest between the top riders (or two riders) with the highest average points total from each club competing in the Premier League in the United Kingdom. The championship was inaugurated in 1995, the same year that the Premier League was formed. For its first two years, the Premier League was the top league in Britain. Career summary Wilson had a career spanning 20 years, starting and finishing at Sheffield. He became Premier League Riders Champion three times. His career ended early due to a number of injuries. In 2004 whilst riding in Joe Screen's testimonial at Belle Vue he crushed the C7 vertebrate in his neck leaving him in a neck brace for several months. He returned in 2005 but suffered a dislocated shoulder and a fractured humerus. He was subsequently, much to his disappointment, released at the end of 2005 which triggered a retirement. History The British Library Newspapers section was based in Colindale in north London, until 2013, and is now divided between the St Pancras and Boston Spa sites. The library has an almost complete collection of British and Irish newspapers since 1840.
