Jesper Larsson (bandy)
Jesper Larsson (; born 27 July 1973) is a Swedish former handball player, who played as a goalkeeper. He made his debut for IFK Kristianstad in 1991–92, helping the team to reach promotion to Elitserien in the same season. He played three more seasons for the club before joining league rivals HK Drott. In 1997, Larsson signed for German second division club HSG Nordhorn. In 1999 he helped the team to promotion to the Handball-Bundesliga. After finishing second in the league with Nordhorn in 2001–02, he joined league rivals TUSEM Essen. After two seasons he returned to Nordhorn, where he played until 2007. Larsson returned to Sweden for the 2007–08 season, playing for H 43 Lund. Two years later, he returned to Kristianstad. In his final professional season in 2011–12, he helped Kristianstad reach the Swedish Championship final, where they were defeated by IK Sävehof. Handball
Handball (also known as team handball, European handball or Olympic handball) is a team sport in which two teams of seven players each (six outcourt players and a goalkeeper) pass a ball using their hands with the aim of throwing it into the goal of the other team. A standard match consists of two periods of 30 minutes, and the team that scores more goals wins. Modern handball is played on a court of , with a goal in the middle of each end. The goals are surrounded by a zone where only the defending goalkeeper is allowed; goals must be scored by throwing the ball from outside the zone or while "diving" into it. Idrottsföreningen Kamraterna Kristianstad (), or IFK Kristianstad, is a Swedish handball club based in Kristianstad. They play in Handbollsligan, the top level of Swedish men's handball. The club was founded in 1899 as a multi-sport club. The handball team made its debut in 1925 and has been the only section of the club since 2000. The club plays its home matches at Kristianstad Arena. Kristianstad have won eight Swedish Championship (SM) gold medals. They won their first gold in 1941. Handbollsligan ''(literally, "The Handball league")'' is the highest league in the league system of Swedish handball, and comprises the top 14 Swedish handball teams. The first season began in 1931–32. The season ends with a playoff. Structure The season starts in September with a regular season comprising 14 teams meeting each other twice. A total of 26 rounds. The eight best teams after the regular season qualifies for the play-off. The 14th team is relegated, and the 11th, 12th and 13th team plays matches against the second, third and fourth from Allsvenskan to qualify for next season's Handbollsligan. The season ends with the finals in the beginning of May and the winning team qualifies directly to EHF European League and the losing team qualifies for the EHF European Cup. HK Drott
HK Drott Halmstad is a handball club, based in Halmstad, Sweden. The club has won the Swedish Championship eleven times, last in 2013. Together with Redbergslids IK, HK Drott have dominated Swedish handball between 1984 and 2003. This club has had many famous players, among them Magnus Andersson, Ola Lindgren, Bengt Johansson and Göran Bengtsson. The Handball-Bundesliga (HBL) is the top German professional handball league. From 2007 onwards, the league was sponsored by Toyota and has officially been called the ''Toyota Handball-Bundesliga''. H 43 Lund
H43 Lund is a handball team from Sweden. The club played in the Elitserien but after bankruptcy in 2014 they no longer exist. The youth club under the same name is a new club founded in 2015 under same short name (but not same full name) The club was founded in 1943 in a school class in Lund. Their teacher Y. Wallmer helped the boys found the club at a local café. 13 years later the club was playing in Sweden's highest division. H43 Lund played in "allsvenskan" for 14 years 1956-1970 before they were relegated to the second division. After nine years they were back in the top division but now only for seven years. In 2000 H43 Lund was back in "Elitserien" and stayed there for 12 years. During 2012/13 H43 played one year in division 2 but then came back. The Swedish men's handball champions (Swedish: ''Svenska mästare i handboll för herrar'') have been determined by three different competitions. From 1931–32 until 1951–52, the title was decided by a straight knockout tournament known as ''Svenska mästerskapet'' ("the Swedish Championship"). The Sweden men's national handball team ( sv, Sveriges herrlandslag i handboll) is controlled by the Swedish Handball Association. Its most successful periods were under coaches Curt Wadmark (1948–1967) and Bengt Johansson (1988–2004).
