Jervonte Jackson
Jervonte Jackson (born September 6, 1986) is a former American football defensive tackle. He was signed by the Philadelphia Eagles as an undrafted free agent in 2009. He played college football at Florida Atlantic. Jackson was also a member of the Jacksonville Jaguars, Detroit Lions, Billings Outlaws, Omaha Beef, Montreal Alouettes, and Nebraska Danger. Early years Jackson attended North Miami Beach High School in Miami, Florida where he played football under Coach Bertani. Jackson lettered in track and field, basketball and football. A defensive tackle (DT) is a position in American football that will typically line up on the line of scrimmage, opposite one of the offensive guards, however he may also line up opposite one of the tackles. Defensive tackles are typically the largest and strongest of the defensive players. Depending on a team's individual defensive scheme, a defensive tackle may be called upon to fill several different roles. These roles may include merely holding the point of attack by refusing to be moved, or penetrating a certain gap between offensive linemen to break up a play in the opponent's backfield. In sports, the practice squad, also called the taxi squad or practice roster, is a group of players signed by a team but not part of their main roster. Frequently used in gridiron football, they serve as extra players during the team's practices, often as part of the scout team by emulating an upcoming opponent's play style. Jeremy Lamar Mincey (born December 14, 1983) is a former American football defensive end in the National Football League (NFL) for the San Francisco 49ers, Jacksonville Jaguars, Denver Broncos, and Dallas Cowboys. 2009 NFL Draft
The 2009 NFL Draft was the seventy-fourth annual meeting of National Football League (NFL) franchises to select newly eligible football players. The draft took place at Radio City Music Hall in New York City, New York, on April 25 and 26, 2009. The draft consisted of two rounds on the first day, starting at 4:00 pm EDT, and five rounds on the second day, starting at 10:00 am EDT. To compensate for the time change from the previous year and in an effort to help shorten the draft, teams were no longer on the clock for 15 minutes in the first round and 10 minutes in the second round.
