Jerry Moore (American Football, Born 1939)
Gerald Hundley Moore (born July 18, 1939) is a former American football player and coach. He served as the head football coach at North Texas State University—now the University of North Texas—from 1979 to 1980, at Texas Tech University from 1981 to 1985, and at Appalachian State University from 1989 to 2012, compiling a career college football coaching record of 242–134–2. In his 24 years at Appalachian State, Moore posted a losing season only once. He led his 2005 Mountaineers team to the NCAA Division I-AA Football Championship. This was the first national championship for any college football team in the state of North Carolina. Moore and the Mountaineers repeated as champions in 2006 and 2007, achieving the first "three-peat" in NCAA Division I FCS/I-AA history. Moore was forced out as head coach at the conclusion of the 2012 season.

Jerry Moore (baseball)
Jeremiah S. Moore (c. 1855 – September 26, 1890) was a Major League Baseball catcher/outfielder in the 19th century. He was a native of Windsor, Ontario, Canada. In 1884 he played for the Altoona Mountain City of the Union Association and the Cleveland Blues of the National League. In 1885 he played for the Detroit Wolverines, also of the National League. In 20 Union Association games he batted .312 (25-for-80), but in 15 National League games he hit only .189 (10-for-53). In 35 total major league games he had a .263 batting average with 13 runs scored. Moore died at the age of 34 or 35 in Wayne, Michigan Wayne is a city in Wayne County in the U.S. state of Michigan.
