Jerre Levy (born April 7, 1938) is an American psychologist and researcher of the brain. She has studied the relationship between the cerebral hemispheres and visual-oriented versus language-oriented tasks in split-brain surgery patients. Jerre Levy was born in Birmingham, Alabama on April 7, 1938. She earned a degree in psychology from the University of Miami in 1962. She attended graduate school there for a year and a half before transferring to Caltech, where she worked in Roger Sperry's laboratory. She received her PhD in 1970. From 1972 to 1977 Levy taught at the University of Pennsylvania. She then became a professor at the University of Chicago. She has also found evidence that the left hemisphere specializes in linear reasoning, while the right brain is more involved in holistic reasoning. Jerre Mangione
Gerlando Mangione (March 20, 1909 – August 16, 1998) was an American writer and scholar of the Sicilian-American experience. Early life and education Mangione was born to Gaspare and Josephine Mangione (Polizzi) in Rochester, New York. His parents both emigrated from Agrigento, Italy. He was one of four children. Mangione attended the East High School and wanted to be a writer. He worked as a busboy, theater extra, paperboy. He attended Syracuse University in 1928 where he worked at The Daily Orange, did scholarly research on writer Stephen Crane. After his graduation in 1931, he was hired by Henry Luce to work at Finance desk at Time. In 1934, he started working for publisher Robert M. McBride. In 1937, he left the publishing business to work as an Information specialist in Washington. He was also a graduate of the Federal Writers' Project, which he left in 1939. Jerre Noe
Jerre Noe (February 1, 1923 – November 12, 2005) was an American computer scientist. In the 1950s, he led the technical team for the ERMA project, the Bank of America's first venture into computerized banking. In 1968 he became the first chair of the University of Washington's Computer Science Group, which later evolved into the Computer Science and Engineering Department.(bad link) Early life and education Noe was born in McCloud, California. He received a Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from the University of California, Berkeley.
