Jerome Thompson
Jerome "Hiana" Thompson, Jr. (born June 4, 1988) is a professional box lacrosse player for the Georgia Swarm of the National Lacrosse League (NLL). Initially drafted by the Buffalo Bandits in 2011, he gained a roster spot for the 2015 NLL season. He is the brother of fellow NLL players Jeremy, Lyle and Miles. Georgia Swarm
The Georgia Swarm are a box lacrosse team in the East Division of the National Lacrosse League. They have been playing at the 13,000-seat Gas South Arena in Duluth, Georgia since their 2016 season. Originally formed as the 2002 expansion Montreal Express, the owners of the Minnesota Swarm purchased the inactive Express franchise from the NLL to create the Swarm in 2004. They played at the Xcel Energy Center in Saint Paul, Minnesota from 2004 until 2015. On May 22, 2015, team owner John Arlotta announced that the Xcel Energy Center, home of the Swarm, did not renew the contract for the team. Instead of negotiating for a new lease, the Swarm began looking for potential relocation sites and eventually chose the Atlanta metro area. In 2017 the Swarm won the NLL championship title against the defending Saskatchewan Rush 2-0 in a best of three series. Iroquois Ironmen were a Canadian professional indoor lacrosse team that played in the Canadian Lacrosse League. The Ironmen, along with the Ohsweken Demons, played out of the Iroquois Lacrosse Arena in Ohsweken, Ontario. On November 8, 2013, team owner Rodney Hill announced that the team would be folding prior to the 2014 season. Onondaga People
The Onondaga people (Onondaga: , ''Hill Place people'') are one of the original five constituent nations of the Iroquois (''Haudenosaunee'') Confederacy in northeast North America. Their traditional homeland is in and around present-day Onondaga County, New York, south of Lake Ontario. They are known as ''Gana’dagwëni:io’geh'' to the other Iroquois tribes. Being centrally located, they are considered the "Keepers of the Fire" (''’'' in Tuscarora) in the figurative longhouse that shelters the Five Nations. Iroquois National Indoor Lacrosse Team
The Haudenosaunee Nationals Indoor Lacrosse Team, known as the Haudenosaunee Nationals, represents the Iroquois Confederacy in international box lacrosse competitions. They are currently ranked second in the world by World Lacrosse and have won Silver medals in all four World Indoor Lacrosse Championships. The team is organized by the First Nations Lacrosse Association. In June of 2022, the Nationals dropped Iroquois from their name, adopting the name the Haudenosaunee Nationals. Miles Thompson
Miles Thompson (born December 8, 1990) is an Iroquois professional lacrosse player who played for the University at Albany in NCAA Division I college lacrosse and plays for the Georgia Swarm in the National Lacrosse League and Chaos Lacrosse Club in the Premier Lacrosse League. He shared the 2014 Tewaaraton Trophy with his brother Lyle. Early life Miles grew up in the Onondaga Nation with parents Doloris and Jerome Thompson. He was one of five children in the family, which included brothers Jeremy, Lyle, and Jerome Jr. (Haina). Miles attended LaFayette High School, outside Syracuse, New York, and was a standout in their lacrosse program. Lyle Thompson
Lyle Thompson (born September 9, 1992) is an Iroquois professional lacrosse player at the attack position for the Cannons Lacrosse Club of the Premier Lacrosse League and the Georgia Swarm of the National Lacrosse League. He shared the 2014 Tewaaraton Trophy with his brother Miles while winning it again in 2015 alone. He is the only player in history to win the award twice consecutively. Early life Lyle grew up in the Onondaga Nation, NY, one of the five children of Doloris and Jerome Thompson. He began playing lacrosse from a very early age as lacrosse carries spiritual and cultural significance with the Onondaga.
