Jerome Odell Gunderson, Sr. (January 7, 1923 – December 19, 2016) was an American businessman, farmer, and politician who served as a member of the Minnesota Senate from 1977 to 1980. Minnesota Democratic–Farmer–Labor Party
The Minnesota Democratic–Farmer–Labor Party (DFL) is the Minnesota affiliate of the U.S. Democratic Party. As of 2022, it controls four of Minnesota's eight U.S. House seats, both of its U.S. Senate seats, the Minnesota House of Representatives, and all other statewide offices, including the governorship. Beginning in 2023, the party will also control the Minnesota Senate, giving it full control of state government. The party was formed by a merger between the Minnesota Democratic Party and the Minnesota Farmer–Labor Party in 1944. The Minnesota Senate is the upper house of the Legislature of the U.S. state of Minnesota.
