Jerom Lastimosa
Jerom Lastimosa (born July 1, 1998) is a Filipino basketball player. He played college basketball for the Adamson Soaring Falcons of the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) from Season 81 to 86. He has also played for the Philippines men's national basketball team. Early life Lastimosa was born in Dumaguete as the fifth out of six children. His mother is a wet market vendor while his father is a tricycle driver. When he was younger, Lastimosa would play in ''panalay'' tournaments. These would be tournaments in which he would play basketball against other amateurs or even ex-pros for an agreed-upon fee, depending on the player's experience and talent level. A scout saw him in the 2017 Unigames (an annual sporting competition for nationwide schools) and recruited him to play for Adamson in Manila. Vincent "Chot" P. Reyes (born August 1, 1963) is a Filipino basketball head coach for the TNT Tropang Giga for the Philippine Basketball Association. He is also the head coach of the Philippine national basketball team, where he led the team to a historic silver medal finish at the 2013 FIBA Asia Championship and the subsequent appearance at the 2014 FIBA World Cup, the country's first in 36 years. UAAP Season 86 is the 2023–24 season of the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP). The season host is the University of the East (UE) under the theme "Fueling the Future". The opening ceremonies was held on September 30, 2023, or right after the 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup, which was co-hosted by the Philippines. Joel Diomar "JD" Cagulangan (born January 24, 2000) is a Filipino basketball player for the UP Fighting Maroons of the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP). Early life Cagulangan first played for Northern Mindanao in the 2013 Palarong Pambansa during elementary days before being recruited by La Salle Greenhills. UAAP Season 85 Basketball Tournaments
The UAAP Season 85 basketball tournaments are the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) basketball tournaments for the 2022–23 school year. The collegiate men's and women's tournaments began on October 1, 2022. Richard "Dickie" Bachmann, former Alaska Aces governor in the Philippine Basketball Association, was appointed as the UAAP basketball commissioner for this season. Bachmann's term as basketball commissioner will extend to the league's 86th season. Tournament format The UAAP will continue to use the UAAP Final Four format. Fr. Aldrin Suan, UAAP president, said that the league will revert to its pre-pandemic Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday schedule. UST Growling Tigers Basketball
The UST Growling Tigers basketball is the intercollegiate men's basketball program of the University of Santo Tomas. The school has won 19 basketball titles including one in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). The UAAP Season 84 men's basketball tournament is the basketball event of the University Athletic Association of the Philippines for its 2021–22 school year. This was the first tournament since 2019, the year before the COVID-19 pandemic hit the Philippines. The women's, boys' and girls' basketball tournaments were not held this season, also due to the pandemic.
