Jermaine Anderson (basketball)
Jermaine Anderson (born February 8, 1983) is a Canadian retired professional basketball player. He is a veteran member of the Canadian national basketball team. High school and college Anderson attended Eastern Commerce Collegiate Institute in Toronto, playing with the school's basketball team until graduating in the class of 2001. Anderson attended Fordham University from the 2002–03 season through to 2005–06, where, as a senior, he started all 32 games for the Rams averaging 15.6 points, 3.7 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game. Professional career On August 2, 2013, he signed a one-year deal with TBB Trier. On August 11, 2014, he re-signed with Trier for one more season. On August 28, 2015, he signed with Baloncesto Sevilla of the Spanish Liga ACB. On January 19, 2016, he parted ways with Sevilla after appearing in 15 games. Joel Vincent Anthony (born August 9, 1982) is a Canadian former professional basketball player who played for the Miami Heat, Boston Celtics, Detroit Pistons, and San Antonio Spurs of the National Basketball Association (NBA). 2009 FIBA Americas Championship
The 2009 FIBA Americas Championship, later known as the FIBA AmeriCup, was the continental championship held by FIBA Americas, for North, Central and South America and the Caribbean. This FIBA AmeriCup championship served as a qualifying tournament for the 2010 FIBA World Championship in Turkey. Each of the top four finishers in the quarterfinal round robin qualified for the World Championship. Brazil won the gold medal, after beating host Puerto Rico, 61–60, in the title game. This was Brazil's fourth FIBA AmeriCup title, and second in the last three tournaments. At the time FIBA world number 1 ranked Argentina claimed the bronze medal, over fourth placed Canada. The Liga ACB, known as Liga Endesa for sponsorship reasons, is the top professional basketball division of the Spanish basketball league system. The Canadian men's national basketball team represents Canada in international basketball competitions since 1923. They are overseen by Canada Basketball, the governing body of basketball in Canada.
