Jerica Tandiman (November 2, 1994) is an American speed skater. Early life Tandiman is from Kearns, Utah. She began skating in 2002 after the Utah Olympic Oval was built near her house. United States speed skating trials, she finished 4th in the 1000 meters. While the top three normally qualify for the team, since Mia Manganello did not have the required qualifying time at that distance, Tandiman was one of the top three qualifiers for the event. She had to wait to see the total number of qualified female athletes, but ultimately made the team. She currently practices at the Utah Olympic Oval. Kearns ( ) is a metro township in Salt Lake County, Utah, United States. Named after Utah's U.S. Senator Thomas Kearns, it had a population of 36,723 at the 2020 Census. The Utah Olympic Oval is an indoor speed skating oval located southwest of Salt Lake City, in Kearns, Utah. The Oval was built for the 2002 Winter Olympics and it hosted the long track speed skating events for the 2002 games. Inside the facility the 400 meter skating track surrounds two international sized ice sheets, and is itself surrounded by a 442 meter running track. Mia Kilburg (née Manganello; born October 27, 1989) is an American speed skater and professional racing cyclist, who currently rides for UCI Women's Continental Team . She is an Olympic bronze medalist in long track speed skating. Speed skating career After nearly qualifying for the 2010 Winter Olympics, Kilburg qualified for the 2018 Winter Olympics. Along with teammates Heather Bergsma and Brittany Bowe, Kilburg won bronze in the team pursuit at the 2018 Olympics in Pyeongchang. The medal was U.S. speed skating's first Olympic medal since 2010.
