Jeremy McGovern
Jeremy McGovern (born 15 April 1992) is an Australian rules footballer who plays for the West Coast Eagles in the Australian Football League (AFL). He is a tall key-position player who has spent most of his career as a defender, although he occasionally plays forward. McGovern was recruited from the Claremont Football Club with the 44th pick in the 2011 Rookie Draft. He was something of a late bloomer, only making his senior debut for West Coast midway through the 2014 season (aged 22). McGovern has been a fixture in the Eagles' line-up since then, and in 2015 played in the grand final loss to Hawthorn. He was named as a defender in the 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019 All-Australian teams entrenching himself as one of the best key defenders in the league. Claremont Football Club
The Claremont Football Club, nicknamed Tigers, is an Australian rules football club based in Claremont, Western Australia, that currently plays in the West Australian Football League (WAFL) and WAFL Women's (WAFLW). Its official colours are navy blue and gold. Formed as the "Cottesloe Beach Football Club" in 1906, the club entering the WAFL in 1925 as the "Claremont-Cottesloe Football Club"', changing its name to the present in 1935. Andrew McGovern
Andrew McGovern (born 7 April 1968) is a former Australian rules footballer who played for the Sydney Swans and Fremantle in the Australian Football League. He was originally drafted by the Swans from Claremont in the West Australian Football League with selection 4 in the 1991 AFL Draft but only played two seasons with Sydney for 20 games. At the end of the 1993 season he was delisted and returned to Western Australia and played for Claremont in 1994. During this season he captained the Western Australian state side in their victorious interstate game against South Australia. The following season he followed Claremont coach Gerard Neesham to the newly formed Fremantle Football Club and played 17 games, mainly as a defender. He would play a total of 63 games for Fremantle in four seasons before retiring at the end of 1999 after playing with Claremont in Westar Rules the whole season. West Australian Football League
The West Australian Football League (WAFL) is an Australian rules football league based in Perth, Western Australia. The league currently consists of ten teams, which play each other in a 20-round season usually lasting from March to September, with the top five teams playing off in a finals series, culminating in a Grand Final. The league also runs reserves, colts (under-19) and women's competitions. Marley Williams
Marley Williams (born 22 July 1993) is a former professional Australian rules footballer who played for the North Melbourne Football Club and the Collingwood Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). He previously played for the Collingwood Football Club he was recruited by Collingwood in the 2012 Rookie Draft, with pick #35. Williams made his debut in Round 9, 2012, against at Football Park. Following the retirement of Ben Johnson in 2013, at the beginning of 2014 Johnson presented Williams with his number 26 guernsey, reenacting Gavin Brown's presentation of the guernsey to Johnson in 2001. Josh Bootsma
Josh Bootsma (born 22 February 1993) is an Australian rules footballer currently listed with in the West Australian Football League (WAFL). He previously played for the Carlton Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL), but had his contract terminated midway through the 2014 season, for breaching the club's and the AFL's codes of conduct. Background and junior career Bootsma was born in 1993 into a football-oriented family, with his father Brad having played 163 WAFL matches for South Fremantle and 23 AFL matches for Fremantle in the 1990s and 2000s. In 2011, Bootsma started the year playing for his local club North Albany, before joining WAFL side South Fremantle mid season. The North Albany Football and Sporting Club, more often referred to as North Albany, is an Australian rules football club located in Albany, Western Australia. The Gibson Desert is a large desert in Western Australia, largely in an almost "pristine" state.
