Jeremy Gable
Jeremy Joseph Gable (born May 10, 1982) is a British-born American playwright and game designer living in Philadelphia. Early life Gable was born in Lakenheath, Suffolk, England. He grew up in Post Falls, Idaho, then moved to Barstow, California after graduation. Career In July 2006, Gable wrote and produced ''Giant Green Lizard! The Musical'', a musical parody of the Japanese monster movies from the 1950s, for the Maverick Theater Company in Fullerton, California. The show received a positive notice in the entertainment trade BackStage West, particularly noting its "inventive score" and "off-kilter sensibility". Gable served as Artistic Director of the Hunger Artists Theatre Company from December 2006 to April 2009 where he directed the Orange County premieres of Sarah Kane's '' 4.48 Psychosis'' and Bryony Lavery's '' Frozen'', as well as writing the Flying Spaghetti Monster plays, which were covered by the official Flying Spaghetti Monster website. Sarah Kane
Sarah Kane (3 February 1971 – 20 February 1999) was an English playwright, screenwriter and theatre director. She is known for her plays that deal with themes of redemptive love, sexual desire, pain, torture—both physical and psychological—and death. They are characterised by a poetic intensity, pared-down language, exploration of theatrical form and, in her earlier work, the use of extreme and violent stage action. Kane herself and scholars of her work, such as Graham Saunders, have identified some of her inspirations as expressionist theatre and Jacobean tragedy. The critic Aleks Sierz saw her work as part of a confrontational style and sensibility of drama termed "in-yer-face theatre". Sierz originally called Kane "the quintessential in-yer-face writer of the 990s but later remarked in 2009 that although he initially "thought she was very typical of the new writing of the middle 1990s. Blank Theatre
The Blank Theatre Company is a non-profit theatre company located in Los Angeles, California. History Founded in 1990 by current Artistic Director/Co-Artistic Producer Daniel Henning, The Blank's mission is to produce either premieres or "reinventions" of previously produced material.
