Jeremiah Valoaga
Jeremiah Isaiah Valoaga (born November 15, 1994) is an American football defensive end for the Memphis Showboats of the United States Football League (USFL). He played college football at UNLV, and was signed by the Detroit Lions as an undrafted free agent in 2017. Early life Valoaga was born in Oxnard, CA. He graduated from Channel Islands High School in 2012. He is of Samoan descent. College statistics Professional career Detroit Lions Valoaga signed with the Detroit Lions as an undrafted free agent on May 12, 2017. On September 24, 2017, he recorded the first sack of his NFL career during a 26–30 loss against the Atlanta Falcons. On November 25, 2017, Valoaga was waived by the Lions and was re-signed to the practice squad. He signed a reserve/future contract with the Lions on January 1, 2018. Defensive end (DE) is a defensive position in the sport of gridiron football. This position has designated the players at each end of the defensive line, but changes in formation (American football), formations over the years have substantially changed how the position is played. History Early formations, with six- and seven-man line defense, seven-man lines, used the end as a containment player, whose job was first to prevent an "end run" around his position, then secondarily to force plays inside. When most teams adopted a five-man line, two different styles of end play developed: "crashing" ends, who rushed into the backfield to disrupt plays, and "stand-up" or "waiting" ends, who played the more traditional containment style. United States Football League (2022)
The United States Football League (USFL) is a professional American football minor league that began play on April 16, 2022. The inaugural 2022 regular season was played in its entirety in Birmingham, Alabama. The postseason games were played in Canton, Ohio, at the Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium. The league is currently owned by National Spring Football League Enterprises Co, LLC, a joint venture between founder Brian Woods and Fox Corporation's sports unit, Fox Sports in the United States.
