Jensen (surname)
Jensen is a surname of Scandinavian origin meaning ''son of Jens''. In 2001 it was the most common surname in Denmark, but nowadays it is the second most common surname in Denmark, where it is shared by about 5% of the population. It is also very common in other Scandinavian countries such as Norway, where it is the ninth most common surname, but nevertheless shared by about 5% of the population. The name is also in use in the Faroe Islands. Dennis Jensen
Dennis Geoffrey Jensen (born 28 February 1962) is a former Australian politician. He was elected to the House of Representatives at the 2004 federal election, winning the Division of Tangney for the Liberal Party. Jensen lost Liberal preselection for the 2016 federal election, and subsequently resigned from the party to stand as an independent. In August 2017 he joined the fledgling Australian Conservatives party. Jensen has a PhD in materials science from Monash University, and before entering politics worked as a CSIRO researcher. Debra Jensen (born Debra Svensk on March 12, 1958, in Orange County, California) is an American model. She was ''Playboy'' magazine's Playmate of the Month for its January 1978 issue. David Jensen
David Allan "Kid" Jensen (born 4 July 1950) is a Canadian-born British radio DJ and television presenter. Born in Victoria, British Columbia, Jensen began as a radio DJ on Radio Luxembourg. Jensen was later a broadcaster for the BBC from 1976 to 1984, as a host on BBC Radio 1 and presenter on the TV music programme ''Top of the Pops'' from 1977 to 1984. Jensen has also hosted and presented for Capital FM and ITV among other stations. Darren Aksel Jensen (born May 27, 1960) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey goaltender who played two seasons in the National Hockey League (NHL) for the Philadelphia Flyers. Playing career Jensen was a college goaltender with the Fighting Hawks at University of North Dakota, and won the NCAA Tournament with them in 1980 and 1982. Jensen was selected by the Hartford Whalers in the fifth round of the 1980 NHL Entry Draft. However, he did not sign with Hartford and became a free agent, signing with the Flyers in 1985. He made his debut in the 1984–85 season, but lost the only game he played, and was sent to the Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League (AHL) for the remainder of the season. Daniel Monberg Jensen (born 25 June 1979) is a Danish former professional footballer. A central midfielder, he was known for making good passes in the final third of the field. Cornelius Boy Jensen (September 29, 1814 – December 12, 1886) was a Danish sea captain and Californian politician. Of the nine one-year terms that he served as county supervisor between 1856 and 1877, Jensen was the Chairman of the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors four times. Claus William Jensen (born 29 April 1977) is a Danish professional football manager, and former player who is the manager of Danish 1st Division club Nykøbing FC. During his active playing career, he played as an attacking midfielder. Jensen made 47 appearances for the Denmark national team, in which he scored 8 goals. He also represented Denmark at the 2002 World Cup and 2004 European Championship tournaments. He is the cousin of former winger Anders Due, who currently works as his assistant in Nykøbing FC. L8R (pronounced ''later'') was Norway's first boyband. The quartet consisted of teenagers Ray David (Raymond David Henriksen), Erik Kinn (Knut Eirik Kokkin), Kif Flinder (Christopher Flinder Petersen) and Chris Jensen (Christoffer Jensen). History Originally put together by the label Tribe Records (NO) who was looking to build a group around young Henriksen whom they knew from several stage performances. In January 2002 an audition was made in the regions around Oslo, looking for boys who could sing but with an emphasis on dancing abilities. Out of several hundred hopefuls Kokkin, Petersen and Jensen were chosen. Many months of hard work followed, grooming the boys into what would become Norway's first boyband, with Henriksen as the main vocalist. The origin of the band name came from the boys themselves.
