Jens Von Der Lippe
Jens von der Lippe (13 October 1911 – 17 June 1990) was a Norwegian ceramist, non-fiction writer and educator. He was born in Christiania, and was a brother of Frits von der Lippe and Just Lippe. He ran a ceramics workshop in Oslo in cooperation with his wife, Margrethe von der Lippe, and many of their works were co-productions. Margrethe Von Der Lippe
Margrethe von der Lippe (née Lund; 9 July 1913 – 10 March 1999) was a Norwegian ceramist. Personal life She was born in Trondheim, a daughter of plumber Knut Henrik Holtermann Lund and Fredrikke Regine Brun. She married ceramist Jens von der Lippe in 1936. Career Von der Lippe studied at the Norwegian National Academy of Craft and Art Industry and at the Staatliche Kunstgewerbeschule in Wien. Oslo
Oslo ( , , or ; sma, Oslove) is the capital and most populous city of Norway. It constitutes both a county and a municipality. Frits Von Der Lippe
Frits von der Lippe (1 June 1901 – 5 September 1988) was a Norwegian journalist and theater critic. He served as Director of Riksteatret in Oslo from 1949–1968. Biography Von der Lippe was born in Bergen, Norway. His parents were Jakob von der Lippe (1870–1954) and Hanna Castberg (1872–1926). His brother Jens von der Lippe (1911–1990) was a ceramist, non-fiction writer and educator. He grew up in Kristiania (now Oslo) where he took his examen artium in 1919. He worked the next year as a teacher at Boen near Kristiansand. He then started as a career in journalism. He was employed at ''Tidens Tegn'' from 1920–21 and then at '' Morgenposten'' where he was a theater critic until 1930. From 1930 to 1949, he worked as Deputy Secretary for Gyldendal Norsk Forlag. Just Lippe
Just Lippe (13 January 1904 – 24 March 1978) was a Norwegian journalist and politician for the Communist Party. He was born in Bergen as a son of Jakob von der Lippe (1870–1954). He was related to von der Lippes (as follows): brothers Frits and Jens, brother-in-law Margrethe, grandson of Conrad Fredrik, great-grandson of Bishop Jacob and first cousin once removed of Admiral Jakob and whaler Anton. He joined the Norwegian Labour Party in 1921, but joined the Communist Party when it split from Labour. In 1927 he was imprisoned (five weeks of detention, without conviction) together with Henry W. Kristiansen, Otto Luihn and Albin Eines, after a police raid in the party offices. He was a secretary in the Young Communist League of Norway from 1925 to 1929, and chaired the organization from 1927 to 1928. is the largest Norwegian biographical encyclopedia. The first edition (NBL1) was issued between 1921 and 1983, including 19 volumes and 5,100 articles. Knut Helle
Knut Helle (19 December 1930 – 27 June 2015) was a Norwegian historian. A professor at the University of Bergen from 1973 to 2000, he specialized in the late medieval history of Norway. He has contributed to several large works. Early life, education and marriage He was born in Larvik as the son of school inspector Hermann Olai Helle (1893–1973) and teacher Berta Marie Malm (1906–1991). He was the older brother of politician Ingvar Lars Helle. The family moved to Hetland when Knut Helle was seventeen years old.
