Jenny Ogwen
Jenny Ogwen is a Welsh former actress and presenter. She is best known as a weather presenter on the Welsh-language channel S4C. Biography Early life Ogwen was born in Llandybie, in Carmarthenshire. Her family moved to Crymych in Pembrokeshire when she was two years old. In her teenage years she was crowned ''Miss Pembrokeshire 1961'' and won the title of ''Miss Norvic Teenager of the Year'' in London. She left school at the age of 16 and went to London to be trained as a secretary the following year. She moved back to Wales when she was 19. Career Her first job was working as a secretary for the media news programme ''The Day''. Ogwen later went to present the program ''Siôn a Siân'' during the 1960s and children's shows as well as acting in ''Now You're Talking'', a television series for learners. Llandybie
Llandybie ( cy, Llandybïe , " Saint Tybie's church") is a community which includes a large village of the same name situated north of Ammanford in Carmarthenshire, Wales. According to the United Kingdom Census 2001, Llandybie village itself is home to a population of 3,800, while the community – which also includes the villages of Blaenau, Caerbryn, Capel Hendre, Cwmgwili, Pentregwenlais, Penybanc, Pen-y-groes, and Saron – has 8,800 inhabitants, increasing to 10,994 at the 2011 census. It was in Llandybie, in 1943, that the mineral Brammallite was found for the first time. Llandybie hosted the National Eisteddfod of Wales in 1944. The village is served by Llandybie railway station on the Heart of Wales Line and the A483 road which is the main road. Carmarthenshire
Carmarthenshire ( cy, Sir Gaerfyrddin; or informally ') is a county in the south-west of Wales. The three largest towns are Llanelli, Carmarthen and Ammanford. Carmarthen is the county town and administrative centre. The county is known as the "Garden of Wales" and is also home to the National Botanic Garden of Wales. Carmarthenshire has been inhabited since prehistoric times. The county town was founded by the Romans, and the region was part of the Kingdom of Deheubarth in the High Middle Ages. Rhodri Ogwen Williams (born 10 May 1968) is a Welsh sports journalist from Barry, Vale of Glamorgan, Wales. He is currently employed by Qatar's Al-Kass Sports Channel and anchors the network's English-speaking studio. TV career Williams was a main presenter for Sky Sports News and was one of Sky Sports' main rugby presenters - hosting the Heineken Cup and Southern Hemisphere rugby including the Tri Nations, the NPC in New Zealand and the Currie Cup in South Africa. He was sacked by Sky Sports in 2006 after tabloid revelations regarding his personal life. He was the first presenter on L!VE TV (Britain's first 24-hour cable channel). Crymych
Crymych () is a village of around 800 inhabitants and a community (population 1,739) in the northeast of Pembrokeshire, Wales. It is situated approximately above sea level at the eastern end of the Preseli Mountains, on the old Tenby to Cardigan turnpike road, now the A478. The village developed around the former Crymmych Arms railway station on the now-closed Whitland to Cardigan Railway, nicknamed ''Cardi Bach'' (Little Cardi). Crymych, which is twinned with Plomelin in Brittany, has an elected community council. Gomer Press (Welsh: ''Gwasg Gomer'') is a family printing (and formerly publishing) company based in Llandysul, west Wales. It was the largest publishing house in Wales. History The company was first established in 1892 and began as a general store and printer; it is owned by the same family to this day.
