Jennifer Bowes
Jennifer Bowes is a Canadian politician, who was elected to the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan in the 2020 Saskatchewan general election. She represents the electoral district of Saskatoon University as a member of the Saskatchewan New Democratic Party caucus. Political career Bowes first ran for provincial office in the 2016 Saskatchewan general election, 2016 election in the newly created riding of Saskatoon University (provincial electoral district), Saskatoon University. There she finished second to Saskatchewan Party candidate and former Saskatoon City Councillor Eric Olauson by a margin of 348 votes. Bowes ran again in the 2020 Saskatchewan general election, 2020 election, challenging the incumbent Olauson and winning the seat by a margin of 495 votes. The Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan is the legislative chamber of the Saskatchewan Legislature in the province of Saskatchewan, Canada. Bills passed by the assembly are given royal assent by the Lieutenant Governor of Saskatchewan, in the name of the King in Right of Saskatchewan. The assembly meets at the Saskatchewan Legislative Building in Regina. There are 61 constituencies in the province, which elect members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) to the Legislative Assembly. The Saskatchewan Party is a centre-right political party in the Canadian province of Saskatchewan. Since 2007, it has been the province's governing party; both the party and the province are currently led by Premier Scott Moe. The party was established in 1997 by a coalition of former provincial Progressive Conservative and Liberal party members and supporters who sought to remove the Saskatchewan New Democratic Party (NDP) from power. The Canadian Association of Elizabeth Fry Societies (CAEFS) is an association of groups operating under the Elizabeth Fry Society banner, similar in many respects to the John Howard Society.
