Jeni Barnett (born 24 March 1949 in London) is an English actress and TV presenter who grew up in Borehamwood. Acting career As an actress Barnett appeared on several TV shows, including ''Revolting Women'' (BBC2, 1981) and ''Doctors'', and has also been a panelist on ITV's ''Loose Women'' and Five's ''The Wright Stuff'', and was a long-time presenter of the children's TV series '' You and Me''. TV presenter Barnett became well known after appearing on British breakfast station TV-am as a weekend presenter. Jeni Bojilova-Pateva
Jeni Bojilova-Pateva, also transliterated as Zheni Bozhilova-Pateva, ( bg, Жени Божилова-Патева; 1 December 1878 – 17 June 1955) was a Bulgarian teacher, writer, women's rights activist, and suffragist, who became involved in the pacifist movement. After graduating with teaching credentials in 1893, she began her profession, but was barred from teaching when a law was passed in 1898 that limited the rights of married women. She turned to activism and journalism, becoming involved in the international women's movement that year. A highly prominent feminist, she was one of the founders of the Bulgarian Women's Union in 1901. During 1905 in Burgas, she founded "Self-Awareness", a feminist group, and served as its chair for 25 years. As editor of the ''Women's Voice'' she published articles on developments in the women's movement in Bulgaria and abroad, as well as about issues affecting women. Jeni Couzyn (born 1942) is a feminist poet and anthologist of South African extraction who lives and works in Canada and the United Kingdom. Her best known collection is titled '' Life by Drowning: Selected Poems'' (1985), which includes an earlier sequence ''A Time to Be Born'' (1981) that chronicles her pregnancy and the birth of her daughter. Biography Couzyn was born in South Africa and educated at the University of Natal. She emigrated to Britain in 1966 and established herself as a freelance writer. She became a Canadian citizen in 1975 and the following year was appointed writer-in-residence at the University of Victoria, British Columbia. Jeni LeGon (born Jennie Ligon; August 14, 1916 – December 7, 2012), also credited as Jeni Le Gon, was an American dancer, dance instructor, and actress. She was one of the first African-American women to establish a solo career in tap dance. Early years Born as Jennie Ligon in Chicago, Illinois, her parents were Hector Ligon, a chef who also worked as a railway porter, and Harriet Bell Ligon, a housewife.
