Jemeel Powell (born August 29, 1980) is a former American football cornerback in the National Football League (NFL) for the Dallas Cowboys. He played college football at the University of California, Berkeley. Early life Powell attended Junípero Serra High School (Gardena, California), Junípero Serra High School, where he was a two-way player at wide receiver and cornerback. As a senior, he had 59 tackles, 6 interceptions and 4 returned kicks (two kickoffs and two punts) for touchdowns. He also practiced track & field, track. Cornerback
A cornerback (CB) is a member of the defensive backfield or secondary in gridiron football. Cornerbacks cover receivers most of the time, but also blitz and defend against such offensive running plays as sweeps and reverses. They create turnovers through hard tackles, interceptions, and deflecting forward passes. Other members of the defensive backfield include strong and free safeties. Mario Lashun Edwards Sr. (born December 1, 1975) is a former American football cornerback in the National Football League for the Dallas Cowboys, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and Miami Dolphins. A return specialist or kick returner is a player on the special teams unit of a gridiron football team who specializes in returning punts and kickoffs.
