Jelmer Beulenkamp (born 16 November 1977) is a former speed skater. He was the Dutch speed skating champion in 1998. Jelmer Steenhuis
Jelmer Jan Steenhuis ( Amsterdam, 25 March 1954) is a Dutch creator of puzzles and games. Steenhuis is best known for his weekly puzzles in the newspaper NRC Handelsblad and magazine Vrij Nederland. Jelmer Steenhuis used to be a lawyer, an occupation he gradually started to combine with the design of puzzles. From 1987 he was responsible for the cryptic crossword in NRC Handelsblad, the so-called Scrypto, a renowned puzzle that until then was compiled by Henk Scheltes. Later on, from 1990, Steenhuis also started to compile a weekly variety puzzle in the Vrij Nederland, loosely based on similar puzzles in American periodicals. In 1997 Steenhuis decided to concentrate exclusively on the compiling of puzzles as a profession, resulting in his own business start-up Studio Steenhuis. The Gathering is a Dutch rock band, founded in 1989 by brothers Hans and René Rutten and vocalist Bart Smits in Oss, North Brabant. The Gathering earliest releases were categorized as atmospheric doom metal with influences from extreme metal acts like Celtic Frost and Hellhammer. In 1998, with the release of their fifth studio album ''How to Measure a Planet?'', they had a major shift in musical style, with the group acknowledging the growing influence of shoegazing, post-rock, experimental rock and the more ethereal sounds of 4AD bands, such as Dead Can Dance, Cocteau Twins, as well as Pink Floyd, Radiohead and Massive Attack; they expanded their sound, which acquired characteristics of progressive, alternative rock, and trip hop and gained success and recognition beyond the European borders.
