Jefta Van Dinther
Jefta van Dinther (born 4 March 1980 in Utrecht) is a Dutch-Swedish choreographer and dancer. Today van Dinther lives and works in Berlin and Stockholm. Life and achievements Van Dinther grew up in the Netherlands and Sweden. From 1999 to 2003 he attended Amsterdam School of the Arts, where he studied modern and contemporary Dance. He worked as a dancer with various choreographers, including Mette Ingvartsen, Xavier Le Roy and Ivana Müller. Since 2008 he has been creating his own performances as a choreographer. Van Dinther's performances are regularly presented at international venues, such as at Volksbühne, HAU Hebbel am Ufer, Komische Oper Berlin, Sadler's Wells in London, Tanzquartier in Vienna, Internationaal Theater Amsterdam, Centre Georges Pompidou and Théâtre national de Chaillot in Paris, as well as at the festivals Tanz im August in Berlin, Festival TransAmériques in Montreal and at ImPulsTanz in Vienna. Tanz im August (; "Dance in August") is an annual festival for contemporary dance in Berlin. It was founded by Nele Hertling in West Berlin in 1988, and is now presented by the Hebbel am Ufer (HAU) theatre company on various stages in Berlin. Birgit Cullberg
Birgit Ragnhild Cullberg (3 August 1908 – 8 September 1999) was a Swedish choreographer. Her father Carl Cullberg was a bank director and her mother was Elna Westerström. Cullberg was born in Nyköping and was married from 1942 to 1949 to actor Anders Ek. She was the mother of Niklas Ek in 1943, and twins Mats Ek, and Malin Ek in 1945. Cullberg studied ballet under Kurt Jooss, Kurt Jooss-Leeder and Lilian Karina and at The Royal Ballet, London (1952–1957). In 1960, Cullberg was appointed director and choreographer at the Stockholm City Theatre. Some of her choreographies were premiered at the Royal Opera in Stockholm. Cullberg gained international recognition by founding the Cullberg Ballet in the 1960s. On her retirement in 1985, her son Mats Ek took over the ballet company. Röyksopp (), a Norwegian electronic music duo from Tromsø formed in 1998. The duo consists of Svein Berge and Torbjørn Brundtland. Berge and Brundtland were introduced to each other through a mutual friend in Tromsø, Norway. They enjoyed the same films and music, and shared an interest in electronics. The two experimented with various forms of electronic music, and bought a drum machine together during the Tromsø techno scene before going their separate ways. Cullberg Ballet
Cullberg Ballet ( sv, Cullbergbaletten) is a Swedish contemporary dance company. It was founded by the modern dancer and pioneer choreographer Birgit Cullberg in 1967, who brought it to fame.
