Geoffrey Scott (architectural Historian)
Geoffrey Scott (11 June 1884 – 14 August 1929) was an English scholar and poet, known as a historian of architecture. His biography of Isabelle de Charrière entitled ''The Portrait of Zelide'' won the 1925 James Tait Black Memorial Prize. Background Born in Hampstead, Scott was educated at Highgate School, then Rugby School and New College, Oxford, where he won the Newdigate Prize in 1906. While still an undergraduate he was befriended by Mary Berenson, leading to his admission to the Florence 'circle' of Bernard Berenson. From 1907 to 1909 he was employed by Berenson; he worked on the design of the garden of ''I Tatti'', the Berenson villa, with Cecil Ross Pinsent. This led to work on other gardens. It also brought him the friendship of John Maynard Keynes, who met him there. In 1914 the publication of ''The Architecture of Humanism'' made his reputation. Geoffrey Scott (politician)
Geoffrey Douglas Scott (March 2, 1938 — August 5, 2021) was a former journalist and Canadian Member of Parliament for the riding of Hamilton—Wentworth. He was a member of the Progressive Conservative Party of Canada caucus. The riding of Hamilton-Wentworth became open when Tory incumbent Sean O'Sullivan resigned to become a Catholic priest in 1977. Scott won it in a by-election held on October 16, 1978, and remained in office until 1993. In his teenage years, Scott was a budding impressionist, a talent he occasionally displayed, but only on request, during his political career. He formed a partnership with another budding impressionist, Rich Little, in the mid-1950s. Geoffrey Chase Scott (February 22, 1942 – February 23, 2021) was an American actor and stuntman best known for appearing on the television series ''Dynasty'' for two seasons (1982 to 1984) as Mark Jennings, the first husband of Krystle Carrington (played by series star Linda Evans). Other nighttime series regular contracts included ''Concrete Cowboys'' and ''Cliff Hangers''. In film he co-starred with Jane Fonda in '' The Morning After''. Geoffrey Samuel Scott (31 October 1956 – 17 October 2018) was an English professional footballer who made 176 appearances in the Football League playing for Stoke City, Leicester City, Birmingham City, Charlton Athletic, Middlesbrough, Northampton Town and Cambridge United. He played as a defender. Football career Scott was born in Birmingham, and played began his career with Aston Villa. He failed to earn a professional contract with Villa and played non-league football for Kings Heath, Solihull Borough and Highgate United before joining Stoke City in 1977. He made his Football League debut on 22 October 1977 as a substitute in a 2–1 defeat away at Blackburn Rovers. He played regularly for Stoke, making 78 league appearances in two and a half years, and was part of the side that gained promotion to the First Division in the 1978–79 season. Jeffrey Bradford Scott (born December 28, 1980) is an American football coach. He was the head coach at the University of South Florida from 2020 to 2022. Playing career Born in Arcadia, Florida, Scott later lived in Seneca, South Carolina and graduated from the Hammond School in Columbia, South Carolina in 1999. He played quarterback on the football team and was also an outfielder and pitcher on the baseball team in high school. Scott played college football at Clemson University under head coach Tommy Bowden. He lettered three years (2000–2002) as a wide receiver. He also played special teams for most of his playing career, serving as the holder for place kicks. He participated in three bowl games while playing at Clemson: the 2001 Gator Bowl, 2001 Humanitarian Bowl, and 2002 Tangerine Bowl.
