Jeffrey Christiaens
Jeffrey Mallen Christiaens (born 17 May 1991) is a Filipino Belgian former footballer who mainly played as a winger. He last played for Filipino side Ceres–Negros. He also represented the Philippines at international level. Career Club Christiaens started his youth career at Ruiselede before moving on to Deinze and eventually Club Brugge. Towards the end of the 2010–11 season, he was released by Club Brugge and signed for Belgian Third Division side Torhout. He made his senior debut on 17 August 2011 in the 1–1 home draw against Géants Athois, coming on as a substitute in 80th minute. He made his first start and scored his first goal for the club in his second appearance in the 2–2 away draw to Royal Mouscron-Péruwelz. On 19 November 2011, he made an appearance for Filipino side Global FC in a round of 16 match in the 2011 United Football Cup against the Philippine Army. The 2019 Copa Paulino Alcantara was the second edition of the Copa Paulino Alcantara, the domestic football cup competition of the Philippines. It included 6 out of 7 Philippines Football League teams as well as a guest team, the Philippines U22. The cup's first iteration began on September 1, 2018. It replaced the PFF National Men's Club Championship and the UFL Cup as the country's top domestic cup tournament. The 2019 Philippines Football League was the third season of the Philippines Football League (PFL), the professional football league of the Philippines. Ceres–Negros are the defending champions. This marks the revival of the Philippines Football League as the league folded after the 2018 season to give way for the Philippine Premier League, intended as a successor league to the PFL, which proved to be short-lived. The 2019 season started on May 25, 2019, and ended on October 19, 2019. Ceres–Negros won their second title on October 12, 2019 by winning over Green Archers United 3–1 with two matches to spare. The 2018 Philippines Football League was the second season of the Philippines Football League (PFL), the professional football league of the Philippines. The season started on 3 March and concluded on 25 August. The league was contested by six teams from last season's eight, after Meralco Manila and Ilocos United withdrew before the season began. Ceres–Negros won their second consecutive league title on 25 July with three matches to spare. Due to several issues with the league—such as the expensive home-and-away format as well as the lack of sponsors and TV coverage—the PFL was abolished after the 2018 season and was replaced by the Philippine Premier League. The 2017 Philippines Football League was the inaugural season of the Philippines Football League (PFL), the professional football league of the Philippines. The league was officially launched on 21 April 2017 at Shangri-La at the Fort in Taguig, while the first match of the season was played on 6 May. The PFL replaced the Metro Manila-based United Football League (UFL), which served as the country's ''de facto'' top-level football league from 2009 to 2016. The league was made up of 8 clubs: 6 from the UFL (Ceres, Global, JP Voltes, Kaya, Loyola Meralco Sparks, and Stallion) and 2 expansion teams (Davao Aguilas and Ilocos United). The United Football League, commonly known as the UFL, was an association football league, replaced by the Philippines Football League, based in the National Capital Region of the Philippines, governed by the Football Alliance (FA) in partnership with United Football Clubs Association (UFCA). The association football tournament at the 2011 Southeast Asian Games (Indonesian: ''Sepak bola di SEA Games 2011'') took place from 3 to 21 November 2011. This edition of the tournament was only for the men's competition. No women's competition was held as the host nation Indonesia did not have enough stadiums to host two categories of football at the same time, but other reasons were put into consideration, such as the poor performance of the Indonesian women's national team.
