Oceanside Unified School District is a public school district serving the city of Oceanside in San Diego County, California, United States. The district's vision is that "all students graduate college and career ready, prepared to be responsible global citizens and ambitious future leaders." There are 23 schools in the district, including 16 K-5 schools, 4 middle schools, 2 comprehensive high schools, and 1 alternative high school. These include Oceanside High School and El Camino High School. Since 2014, Dr. Duane Coleman has been the Superintendent of Schools. Dr. Coleman founded the Oceanside Promise, a cross-sector community organization dedicated to preparing students for college, career, and life from birth. Victor Villaseñor is an American writer, best known for the national bestselling book '' Rain of Gold''. Villaseñor's works are often taught in American schools. Joe Fagaofe Salave'a (; born March 23, 1975) is an American football coach and former defensive tackle who is currently the associate head coach, run game coordinator and defensive line coach at the University of Miami. He previously served as the associate head coach, defensive line coach and co-defensive coordinator at the University of Oregon from 2017 to 2021. Willie James Buchanon (born November 4, 1950) is an American former football player who was a cornerback for the Green Bay Packers and San Diego Chargers of the National Football League (NFL). Michael Allen Booker Jr. (born April 27, 1975) is an American former professional cornerback who played five seasons in the National Football League from 1997–2001. Tiaina Baul "Junior" Seau Jr. (; ; January 19, 1969May 2, 2012) was an American professional football player who was a linebacker in the National Football League (NFL), mostly with the San Diego Chargers. Known for his passionate play, he was a six-time first-team All-Pro, 12-time Pro Bowl selection, and named to the NFL 1990s All-Decade Team.
