Jeff Teat
Jeffrey Steven Teat (born April 30, 1997) is a Canadian lacrosse player for Atlas Lacrosse Club of the Premier Lacrosse League and the New York Riptide of the National Lacrosse League. He is one of three players in lacrosse history to be selected first overall in both the NLL and PLL/MLL drafts. Early life and career Teat is the son of Maria and Dan Teat. Dan played fourteen seasons in the NLL and is currently an assistant coach for Panther City Lacrosse Club. Teat attended The Hill Academy, playing five seasons of lacrosse there, as well as playing Junior A lacrosse for the Brampton Excelsiors, where he recorded 145 points during the regular season in his final season, the most of any OJALL player since John Grant Jr. Teat ended the season with 211 points, including the playoffs where Brampton got to the Ontario League semifinals. Boston Cannons
The Cannons Lacrosse Club are a professional men's field lacrosse team in the Premier Lacrosse League (PLL) . Formerly based in Boston, Massachusetts, they played in Major League Lacrosse (MLL) as the Boston Cannons from their inaugural 2001 season to 2020. The team's home field was Veterans Memorial Stadium in nearby Quincy. In the MLL, the team won two Steinfeld Cup championship games in 2011 and 2020, the latter being the MLL's final championship. The Cannons joined the PLL in 2020 following the MLL–PLL merger and were rebranded as the Cannons Lacrosse Club. Franchise History The Cannons Lacrosse Club identity was adopted following the MLL-PLL merger in December 2020 for the team formerly known as Boston Cannons. Lacrosse People From Ontario
Lacrosse is a team sport played with a lacrosse stick and a lacrosse ball. It is the oldest organized sport in North America, with its origins with the indigenous people of North America as early as the 12th century. The game was extensively modified by European colonists, reducing the violence, to create its current collegiate and professional form. Players use the head of the lacrosse stick to carry, pass, catch, and shoot the ball into the goal. The sport has four versions that have different sticks, fields, rules and equipment: field lacrosse, women's lacrosse, box lacrosse and intercrosse. Under-19 World Lacrosse Championships
The Under-19 World Lacrosse Championships (U-19) are held separately for men and women every four years to award world championships for the under-19 age group in men's lacrosse and women's lacrosse. The tournaments are sanctioned by World Lacrosse. These championships were first held for men in 1988 and for women in 1995. They have only been held in the same year twice and both times in the same country; 1999 in Australia and 2003 in the United States. The United States has won every men's U-19 tournament and all but two women's U-19 tourneys. The 2008 men's championship was held in July 2008 in Coquitlam, British Columbia, Canada and was won by the United States. The 2012 men's tournament was held in Turku, Finland, with the United States winning the title, defeating Canada 10–8, despite a pair of pool-play losses to Canada and the Iroquois Nationals. Canada Men's National Lacrosse Team
The Canadian men's national lacrosse team represents Canada in men's international lacrosse competitions. The team is governed by the Canadian Lacrosse Association, which is a member of World Lacrosse, the international governing body for lacrosse. Traditionally Canada has been one of the leading nations in international play, placing among the top three at the World Lacrosse Championship every year since the tournament's inaugural year in 1967. Lyle Thompson
Lyle Thompson (born September 9, 1992) is an Iroquois professional lacrosse player at the attack position for the Cannons Lacrosse Club of the Premier Lacrosse League and the Georgia Swarm of the National Lacrosse League. He shared the 2014 Tewaaraton Trophy with his brother Miles while winning it again in 2015 alone. He is the only player in history to win the award twice consecutively. Dhane Smith (born January 22, 1992) is a professional lacrosse player for the Buffalo Bandits of the National Lacrosse League and Chaos Lacrosse Club in the Premier Lacrosse League. Smith began his career in 2009 with the Kitchener-Waterloo Braves of the Ontario Junior A Lacrosse League, where he won the Green Gael Trophy as the league's MVP in 2012.
