Jeff Schneider (artist)
Jeff Schneider (born 1960, Bethesda, Maryland) is an American artist. Life and work Early on, Schneider showed a keen interest in photography often shooting and processing up to one hundred feet of black & white film a week. Growing increasingly tired of the representational aspects of photography, through darkroom manipulations, Schneider began to essentially abstract the "objectivity" of the camera lens. One of his professors at the University of South Florida suggested he enroll in a figure drawing and art theory class. Not long after these initial steps into fine art, Schneider attended the 1980 Picasso Retrospective at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City. This exhibition confirmed his desire to become an artist. Jeffrey Theodore Schneider (born December 6, 1952) is an American former professional baseball player. He appeared in 11 Major League games as a relief pitcher for the Baltimore Orioles in . A switch hitter who threw left-handed, Schneider stood tall and weighed . He is perhaps best remembered for appearing on Cal Ripken Jr.'s 1982 Topps rookie card. Born in Washington, Schneider attended high school in Illinois before attending Iowa State University. Robert Storr (art Academic)
Robert Storr (born 1949) is an American curator, critic, painter, and writer. Education Robert Storr received his B.A. in History and French from Swarthmore College in 1972, and earned an M.F.A. in Art from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 1978. Career From 1990 to 2002 Storr was curator, then senior curator, in the Department of Painting and Sculpture at the Museum of Modern Art. As a curator, Storr made his mark early with a number of major exhibitions at the museum and elsewhere, which enhanced the public prominence of such artists as Elizabeth Murray, Gerhard Richter, Max Beckmann, Tony Smith and Robert Ryman. He also organized a number of reinstallations of MoMA's permanent collection, covering such topics as abstraction and the modern grotesque. Donald Baechler
Donald Baechler (November 22, 1956 – April 4, 2022) was an American painter and sculptor associated with 1980s Neo-expressionism. He had lived in Manhattan and Stephentown, New York. Early life and education Baechler was born in Hartford, Connecticut, to parents Marjorie (née Dolliver) and Henry Jules Baechler, an accountant. He was raised in a Quaker family and was one of four children. He was interested in art at a young age, after his mother died. Ross Bleckner
Ross Bleckner (born May 12, 1949) is an American artist. He currently lives and works in New York City. His artistic focus is on painting, and he held his first solo exhibition in 1975. Some of his art work reflected on the AIDS epidemic. Early life and education Bleckner was born on May 12, 1949 in Brooklyn, New York and he grew up Jewish. In an interview, Bleckner commented that he was fortunate to have supportive parents. In 1961, Bleckner and his family moved to a more affluent town in Hewlett, New York, where he attended George W. William Powhida
William Powhida (born 1976) is an American visual artist and former art critic. Powhida's work is critical and addresses the contemporary art world. Education Powhida received his Master of Fine Arts in painting from Hunter College in January, 2002. Career Topics have included creating an "enemies" list as well as letters addressed to contemporary curators (such as Zach Feuer Gallery), collectors and critics, requesting recognition.
